We got this to strain kefir but quickly realized that it is too fine for that. It has been great for straining Tinctures so it has found a valuable place in the Homestead. Good quality for the price and light weight but durable.

There is really no such thing as a "fountain skimmer", so my options were spa skimmers that are too big or aquarium skimmers that are too small and seem kind of cheap in quality, so I thought I would go outside the box and search for kitchen strainers, and, lo and behold, I found this awesome possum. The handle is thick and looks and feels pretty durable and the 100 mesh seems to be the perfect size to pick up small sediment while being able to cut through the water smoothly and easily (I initially purchased the 400 mesh, but it dragged too much). It looks like it will hold up well for my use, but even if it doesn't, the price is so low that I will just buy more. In fact, I already ordered 2 more because I was so excited at how well it cleaned.

Mesh quality is terrible! The 400 mesh is very irregular, with some holes measuring up to 70/80 microns. The 100 mesh is even worse. The manufacturer has decided to weave pairs of strings as one string. There technically is the right number of holes, but only if you count the "holes" where two strings are touching! The holes in 100 are very regular though, measuring slightly above 200 microns.

I ordered these because I make oat milk and ghee. I have metal ones that I have been using paper towels in to achieve a finer strain. I was disappointed that the 200 was not made correctly and part of the mesh had not been sealed. These were so inexpensive it didn't make sense to try to return them for another set. The ones that were made properly work well.

Première fois que j'utilisais ce genre de passoire et je ne le regrette pas, je n'achète plus de coton à fromage qui laisse des fibres dans le liquide, mais cette passoire laisse le liquide très propre

Filtre l'huile de friteuse parfaitement.Le diamètre est un peu trop petit pour cette utilisation.
