I previously bought several other cheese slicers. On all the others , the slicing wire became loose or stretched with no reliable way to tighten it.The tightening mechanism for this slicer works well!

I was excited to finally find a cheese slicer . Inisss it for the 1st and it snapped immediately as I was slicing a thin slice of cheese. I returned it .

Took a while to get a suitable thickness of slice but the wire stood up to cheddar without issue. Have used this now every morning finding that I reach for it rather than the cheese knife which would bend cutting hard cheese; rather than a slice, would get a wedge. Definitely value for money, the wire is sharp and the slice itself very functional. Being metal, it has a good weight so doesn't slip about.Have found the cheese knife excellent for cutting boiled eggs.

For most cheeses this is a great product. I like the ability to have even slices of cheese cut for grilled sandwiches or other things that require uniform pieces. That said, some softer cheese isn't quite as easy to cut, although even with a knife that's also an issue.I really liked the build quality and weight of it. It doesn't feel cheap and the weight is good for pressing down to slice without being too aggressive
