I got this and the jaws didn't quite fully meet. It was OK, but not OK for the price. I picked Amazon as the seller, so it shouldn't be a second from a sketchy seller, perhaps just the one I received was less than perfect, but not what I'd expect from a premium brand. They did open and close smoothly (looking at you, Klein).This turned out to be a good thing as I returned this pair and found the orange big box had the new Knipextend for a good price and those were perfect, and a complete delight.

My old wire cutters finally gave up the ghost so I was looking around for a new pair, and came across these knipex cutters. I thought the price was ridiculous, but I was curious to see what I’d get for the money. I was astonished and amazed and gobsmacked when I started testing them out. Wire that would really hurt my fingers trying to cut with my old cutters, was nipped effortlessly with these knipex ones. I found I could even cut screws and nails without any strain on my wrist or hands. They’re bloody amazing.
