It has a great range of metric and standard sizes. The only thing i wish it came with was a tap holder.

I bought this set just to get the thread files. Some landscapers had unscrewed the pressure valve on my $1100 pressure washer and then had buggered the threads trying to get the valve attached again. Repair shops wanted to replace the whole pump at a cost of $590 fo I thought this was worth trying first.After using the matching thread file for about 10 minutes of filing, I was able to get the pressure valve put back together. Needless to say, I will not be loaning my pressure washer to anyone againThe cutters and tools don't look as nice as some but the thread files worked very nicely and saved me a ton in repairs.

The “Kolvoii 49-Piece Thread Chaser Set, Rethread Repair Tool†is a $50 spare tire / lifeboat / parachute for your workshop. At the very least, it could save you a trip or two to Lowes-Depot for a minor nut or bolt fix. It is for fixing existing threads, not cutting new ones in raw stock.I tested their claims with both a rusty threaded hole (actually a welded nut) and a smashed bolt. The rethread set did great in both tests and I am delighted to endorse it. See my photos!The thread restorer files are a last resort that I did not test, but I can affirm they are quite beefy. I appreciate the carry case is organized and robust with two fasteners and a plastic info card.One strong suggestion, not given in the product instructions: Always oil the tool for best performance, you can use any oil you have on hand, any oil is better than none.

The Kolvoii 49-Piece Thread Chaser Kit comes in a nice strong case with good latches that should last. Both metric and SAE size chasers are included in the kit along with three files to complete the set. All parts are made with heat treated carbon-steel. Some have zinc nitride coating for enhanced durability.No wrenches or T-handles are included with this kit so you will either have to buy some or, take them from existing Tap & Die set you already have. There is no room in the case to accommodate wrenches so you have to store the wrenches in a different location which can be a difficulty if you need the tool and have to make separate trips to get the wrenches. The pictures in the ad do not show any wrenches. All the others sets I looked at did have wrenches so I just assumed... Bad assumption on my part.I tried cleaning up some wheel lug bolts off an older car just to see how the threads cleaned up. The thread chaser did an adequate job of cleaning up the threads at the end and taking some rust off. They do work on the soft steel lug bolts.This kit only has chasers that are 1/4" at the smallest. I often cut off number 8 screws to meet the depth of a project hole. I need a thread chaser to clean up the end thread to make a nut go on easily. This kit doesn't have anything that small. Similarly, 6mm is the smallest that this kit has. I regularly use 3 and 4mm threaded screws so this kit doesn't work for me. The number of metric sized thread chasers is somewhat sparse compared to the SAE sizes. If you use more metric bolts and nuts than SAE, you should consider getting a different set. The ad description clearly states the sizes of chasers in the kit so I really cannot deduct any stars for the lack of choices.Zinc nitride coated carbon steel may be acceptable for a thread chaser on a softer bolt such as is used for wheel bolts or engine blocks. Hardened or Alloy steels would put more wear and tear on these thread chasers. ZnN coated carbon steel may be acceptable because it is not actually cutting the thread.In conclusion, Because there are no wrenches included with the set or places to put the wrenches in the case, the lack of small size thread chasers, and the material of construction, I cannot recommend this Kolvoii Thread Chaser Set.

I am a DIYer who is always working on something. I usually buy single size taps and dies. My most recent project was when I stripped out my valve cover on my car and ordered another single size thread repair kit. The kit was not cheap, but it did the job. For the money I've spent on single pairs, I could've ordered this entire set multiple times. When I came across this set, I had to order it. It is so much cheaper than just buying a single size for each job. I haven't needed this for a project yet, but I did test some out with scrap I had in my shed. I like that this kit came in a nice case. Some of the other off brand tool cases are awfully cheap and fragile. This case is not only sturdy, but each slot is marked with its size. The parts sit firmly inside the slots without falling out. Most of the pieces were great and well machined without any burrs, knicks, or dents. I say most because there was one tap that had a flat spot, as you will see in my photos. I am knocking off a star because this is a great kit for the price, but it's not perfect. I would like to point out that these didn't seem to arrive greased. If you plan on storing these outside, in a shed, vehicle, or any other place where it's exposed to the elements, you may want to grease them to prevent corrosion.

Pros:Good assortment of external and internal thread sizes.Thread chasers seem well made and are easy to use.Very nice case to hold the assortment.Price seems fair.Cons:There are no instructions.It would be nice to have better definition of coarse thread vs fine thread.Overall, I am pleased. This definitely will help when threads get buggered up to be able to straighten them and reuse without replacing. See pictures.

While I would not use these as my professional GoTo every day tool for anyone that needs to use occasionally they are a fantastic add to your tool box!
