Arrived in good condition, nicely packed in it's case.So far they seem to function fine to their purposes & feel as sturdy as any... & Actually sturdier than some. Time will tell though.I was amused to see that each tool included has a very different locking mechanism from the others. All are straightforward though. That said, I am NOT A FAN of the thumb lock on the big yellow pruning shears - AT ALL. If you grab it "upside-down" it re-locked every time for all 3 of us that have used it. And it slides into lock position way too easily for my liking. Even handling it in "upright" position my father was accidentally locking it nearly every time he tried to cut.So far, Am not a fan of that particular pruner over-all... It's competent, but.... Maybe it will grow on me in the garden & the "lighter" pruning of regularly maintaining fruit trees & such, like it was really designed for. Might take some getting used to. Despite its tough-guy looks don't expect it to cut much beyond a 3/4 to an inch diameter fibrous/hard wood... a little thicker if its soft wood.Sharpness is fine (so far). The cutting limitation seems to be the set angle of the blade, throat/hinge placement & so on. Gives more power to cutting a very thin branch.... But on anything just that little bit thicker it just won't even negotiate a compromise - hard stop. Disappointing, because we regularly need to use our pruners on tough stuff & branches that are "just that little bit more" in trimming down brush/undergrowth cleanup for our little chipper, cleaning up less tightly maintained areas, & so on. Loppers are awkward for a lot of that.No regrets (so far) This entire set will definitely get used quite thoroughly - but take it as advice that I'll have to break down & purchase Different pair designed for the "heavier duty" somewhat thicker wood. Am really missing my last favorite pruners that got lost. The bypass pruners in this set did better in the brush prep workout, but these also really designed for "lighter duty". I didn't get to try them out much, because they're already popular with my husband - who grabbed them repeatedly over 2 other options (which means they'll be lost too, as soon as I grow fond of them. Our set Included a bonus of rubberized utility gloves... with The fingers of right hand having huge plastic mole claws attached. I laughed aloud, looks like part of a monster costume. Can see potential usefulness - maybe - if the claws were shorter, but they're sooo LONG! Lol.

This is a very nice set for a very reasonable price. The handles aren't as fancy as costlier models, but they are functional, and are good enough for their intended purpose. All the cutting blades seem like high quality, and are very sharp! I have paid more than this for 1 piece, and getting a 4 piece set was incredible. There was also a very handy freebie set of garden gloves, one with claws that are either great for scraping out young weeds before they root, or giving my cat noogies! The case was more durable than expected also. Great purchase for an avid gardener.

Due to some health reasons, I let my backyard go back to its roots (aka, it's an out of control mess of wildness and weeds).Got these and used them yesterday - especially the grass cutter; just right enough to start taking out a rouge Cattail that was about 4-5 feet in width and well over the roofline of my single story house. Took at least half of it out within an hour or so and the only reason I quit is because there was no more room in the garden waste bin. Appreciate the sharpness but the "safety" pin on this one does slide around too much and did find myself having to pull off one of my gloves to move it back to use it. On the branches for some much needed pruning on my roses, those worked well except for the orange one shown above. On that one, I could not get the safety to come off so that it could be used. Today I was able to get my neighbor to get it to open and close but it took the two of us, one to hold the grip shut and one to try and push the button down to get it to open. He loosened the screw slightly and hit that with some WD-40 and now it is working. Overall I am well pleased with the purchase but your company may want to re-think the safety on both of those.

My other gardening sheers and rose clippers were old, dull and needed to be replaced. I looked at several local hardware stores and was surprised at how expensive all of these items are now. I am SO GLAD I WAITED and found this on Amazon. Great kit, includes all the tools I need for literally the price of 1 item at most home improvement/ hardware stores. Arrived quickly. And I love that it keeps all the tools organized in one place. So far, everything is working great and has held up, feels nice and sturdy, super happy with the quality. Thanks.

I didn’t know how worn out my old tools were until I received and used these. They are well made, high quality and SHARP! I couldn’t believe how effortlessly they made snipping branches! I easily cut branches up to one inch in diameter. The carry case and gloves are a nice bonus! Well worth the investment!

It's great to find a set of shears for this price and for it to go into a storage binder. They have all been useful for my plant pruning needs so far. They are all sharp, and it's a good practice to disinfect each one after each use with rubbing alcohol to ensure they stay in the best condition possible. They did arrive with some stains or use on the blades already (pic 2-4), so that was annoying. I believe I got returned used shears. And one of the shears doesn't line up when closed entirely (pic 5).The gloves smelled and needed to be aired outside my home for a couple of days. The digging glove I have tested out in some dirt and sand. It feels all right to move it around in the soil. However, when doing a natural motion (moving my fingers to close flat along my palm) with the glove without the soil hurt my fingers a bit because the digging part of the gloves knocks together and moves your fingers for you. So please be careful with these. The gloves feel snug and I am a female with medium-sized hands.Overall, decent starter shear set, but weirddddd gloves I probably won't use.
