About this item

  • Durable and Suitable: The hydroponic planter is made of quality PP plastic material, lightweight but very durable, and suitable for indoor or outdoor use. You can plant what you want. You can grow strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, basil, flowers, etc
  • Inhibition of Algae: Algae require light and nutrients to grow. If algae are present, your hydroponic pots may be getting too much light, even if it is carefully placed out of direct sunlight. Compared to a normal mason jar, our hydroponic planter are opaque and colored, which improves light reflection and blocks light absorption
  • Grow Sponges for better rooting: The KIICII Grow Sponges are pH-balanced plant sponges and contain micronutrients to promote healthy root growth. This optimal environment is the result of the sponge's good aeration and water retention ability. It provides the right 5.5-5.6 pH balance. In a hydroponic garden, good air porosity promotes good root growth. The KIICII Grow Sponges offer the most air porosity possible in the rooting sponge for faster root development and plant establishment
  • Wide Application: With colorful design, the KIICII hydrophobic pots make them suitable for home or office decoration. You can place the plastic plant pots wherever you want, like your windows, your kitchen counter, or anywhere you like, to bring natural green to your home or office. This is the perfect gift for a friend who loves planting
  • Easy to Use: Our hydroponic starters are easy to use. You can put seeds in the planting sponges that can absorb water, to keep your plants growing better. Compared with traditional soil planting, plants grown in hydroponics grow faster. With these grow sponges, your planting and gardening will become simpler

I just ordered another set of these Kratky Method Hydroponic Planters. I got a set from another company in Fall, 2024 and started doing hydroponic lettuce. I've had lettuce all winter! I'm hooked on hydroponics!!What I can say about these pots is that they are very well made, a very tough plastic for the pot and the lid. These should really last forever. The holder for the grow sponges is molded right into the cover, so there are no "extra" parts to break or lose. The kit comes with instructions, but I also recommend looking on-line for information on the Kratky Method, so that you have a really good understanding of the concept. It also includes grow sponges. You will need your own seeds, fertilizer solution, and of course lights. You really cannot grow successfully by a window or with inadequate lighting. The pots are also colorful and fun! See the pic's for a shot of the pots in the sun. And to see the pots in action, see the pic of my lettuce under the grow lights. This is an easy 5 Stars for me - and would I buy them again? - Yes, because I did! ;-)===================================================Then just a little about growing hydroponic lettuce. I am finding that 8 plants produce enough lettuce for my wife and me for a few salads each week. That is just what we wanted. So, the reason that I ordered another set of 8 is that when your first set of 8 plants start to bolt, you'll want started plants to replace them, so that you have a pretty much uninterrupted supply of lettuce. The plants that I started on 11/20 are just starting to bolt on 2/24, so I got about 3 months out of a plant. My plan will be to start another set of 8 plants after about 2 months and in a month, they will be producing and I can use those to start replacing ones that bolt.

I'm primarily using them to transition plants from my automated hydroponics garden to dirt. By putting the plants in these pots it gets the plants roots time to strengthen by getting more air before being planted in dirt. I've also germinated some seeds directly in these pots without any issue. They are good quality and the lids fit very tight.

I was thinking they'd be about the size of those poinsettia pots you can get at Christmas but they are about half as big. They are super cute though and I can't wait to grow herbs in them!

I just got these today and I transferred my mini dwarf tomato seedlings in straight away! Way better than trying to use mason jars and covers.

Absolutely love these little Kratky containers. When I originally purchased, for some reason I thought it was a pack of 4. So I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived and turned out to be a pack of 8!I washed them all out and started my seeds right away (01/22/24) and each container is already starting to sprout (01/25/24)I have planted different herbs in each bucket/pot and have them sitting under a grow light to get them started. Once they've been established, I will move them to the window.I love that they aren't just a boring pot. They're actually nice to look at and I don't mind having them on display.I'm more into the Aerogardens, but thought this would be nice and easy for my herbs and I can grow more tomatoes/peppers/fruit in my larger Aerogardens. Will update once I'm further along the growing process. So far, I'm super happy.

This is a great introductory set for hydroponic growing in the home. It comes with 8 colourful plastic pots that are thick and durable, and also are very cute colours! There are also 8 lids with holes for the growing sponges to sit in, 24 growing sponges and instructions. The process for growing hydroponically in this way is that the lid and pot block out the light so the algae cannot grow, and therefore the water will stay clean for growing. It is really quite simple to use - just soak the sponges, fill the pots with water and place the sponge in the hole, making sure it touches the water. Then put one or two seeds in the sponge hole and wait for the magic! We had success with all four seed types we tried: romaine lettuce, basil, cilantro and chives, however the plants quickly became leggy as we did not have a strong enough light source. I would therefore recommend using a grow light until the plants are well-established otherwise they will not make it.Overall, a fun kit. I used four at home with my kids and I'm excited to try this type of growing in my kindergarten classroom as well, alongside traditional soil, so my students can see the difference! I would recommend this set to hydroponic beginners for home and classroom uses.

I bought these for my plants to make the transition from an Aquaponic setup (to DWC pods) so they could stalk up while changing to Deep Water Culture buckets. If you really want to see a plant grow quickly—it’s simple enough to add a small air stone in the cups to oxygenate the roots; plus the vibrant colours go with most decors.
