I bought this because it had a Stainless steel grinder, slim build, half HP power and a five year warranty. Reviews were good too and much better than the usual suspects - InSinkerator, Moen and a couple big store brands.Installation was straightforward. I was a little apprehensive because by previous unit was a larger InSinkerator and I was afraid that the outlet would not line up with the existing piping. That wasn’t a problem - it seems that the outlet vertical center line is a standard five inches from the centerline of the grinder. Lined up perfectly but I had to trim the length of the outlet pipe by about an inch.The grinder works very well. Runs at high speed (3800 rpm) and is rather quiet.

I'm not sure why people have said this was difficult to install, it was very easy. The only difficult part was knocking out the dishwasher plug/connection (not unique to this brand). As others have mentioned, is extremely quiet. Not silent, but much quieter than the Badger 5 I had previously.Overall, very happy. Time will tell if it lasts, but so far so good.

I contacted Krause. Sent them pictures of the disposal showing the leak, and the invoice for my purchase. The next day they sent me an email telling me they were shipping a new garbage disposal to me. I am very pleased with the customer service. I am changing my review to definitely recommend. Thanks, Krause!I've only had this garbage disposal installed for a few weeks and it's leaking. I was very impressed with the quietness of the device, but now I'm disappointed.

I noticed small leaks here and there after I installed it, which was frustrating but I could fix with some plumber's putty. But then it drains so slow that my dishwasher stopped working (yes I did remember to punch in the hole for the dishwasher...). I decided to try a different brand, but of course this piece of junk was stuck so it took a fair bit of effort to get it off my sink. Save yourself time and aggravation - Insinkerator Badger instead and it worked like a charm.
