I received the Krieger 1100w MSW inverter kit and was impressed by the completeness of the packaging, contents, and the support instructions. This unit is primarily going to be used to power my snow melting system so I really did NOT need a PSW inverter for this application. But after owning another MSW (power bright) I decided to take a chance on this kit. First off, the packaging is tight, rugged, and informative right on the package. Second, you get a beefy set of 4awg cables with an ANL fuse/holder as well as a remote. I have not tested the remote yet, but I have loaded the unit to 700 watts just to make sure it was NOT DOA. In initial testing, the LCD meter is a nice touch and I did confirm the LCD reading was within about 5% of one other meter from a watts perspective with voltage reading being about the same. I tested the unit using a skillset drill and it took the load well. I added 650 watts of snow melters separately and let it run 30 minutes down to a voltage of about 11.7 and the fan never came on. However, in full disclosure my garage was 38 degrees and I honestly was not expecting the fan to come on. The units other features that the positive and negative are actually beefy using a bolt and lock washer which I would expect to see on a unit that could be in a RV. Additionally, Krieger supplies little plastic covers for the terminal lugs in addition to a ground lug. My only two complaints are that the unit is a plastic cover rather than aluminum alloy and the remote jack is on the back a bit too to the negative terminal. However, the remote jack and the clearance I just mentioned was due to the testing environment. All in all time will tell if it lasts, but I did call customer service a month before buying the unit JUST to see if they existed and they even provided me with an email on PSW inverters made by power bright ( a subsidiary) I believe. But for a small 1100w MSW inverter and all the trimmings needed to safely wire it up I figured for $85 it was worth giving Krieger a shot. I normally don't do reviews but my initial impression was very good after receiving a few DOA units from other firms. My only compensation for this review is an additional six months of warranty and I think it only fair I call that out for those people who read reviews before making a purchase decision. I cannot comment on the 1500 or higher units or how they are made (plastic covers?), but if you are looking for a MSW inverter in the 1000w range, you may want to give Krieger a serious look considering they offer a three year parts and labor warranty which NO ONE else does in this industry and price point. Merry Christmas!

The 5 stars are early consideration for the quick delivery and being contacted by the manufacturer. They sent an informative email with contacts, hyperlinks and a request for a review. Delivery was super fast. Just barely time to open the box when the email arrived. Its all there. Cables , fuse, remote with wiring. Big manual of instructions. The outlet does have the polarized slots (one bigger hole, one smaller). Earlier reviews have mentioned that being a problem. The base of the case seems to be metal. Probably where they are heatsinking. Looks like the dark cover is aluminum. When I hook it all up I'll come back and update.UPDATE - Ok, here's what I've learned. Power cables are easy and heavy duty. Very impressive. Connections are strong. I attached them to a spare battery which is fairly new. Plenty of juice after being fully charged. Power button(s) - on the back - and front...under the digital readout. Digital readout gives battery voltage and watts out. Plugged in small lights and a fan up first. No problems. Pressing the toggle button gives you the watts you're using. Display is bright and easily read. Using my test equipment, I get only 93 volts at the outlet. I have several multimeters. Digital and analog. Adequate little testers. No major bench equipment. But I'm just interested in what the outlet reads. Just like every outlet in my house. They give me 110volts. For whatever reason I'm only getting 93 volts on this. I plugged in a large variable wattage heater. I knew it was going to be too much. The fan was no problem. However, the heater knocked it out. Turned it off and back on. Just way too much for this unit. Not unexpected. Didn't buy this to run a heater anyway. Decided to measure the voltage drop on one side as I used an electric drill on the other. As the drill started slowly and steadily increased, my voltage increased as well. At full speed the unused outlet was putting out almost 102 volts. Not exactly outstanding....but more than 93 volts. Through all this hour long testing, not once did the inverter cooling fan kick in. Some of my other units have kicked in way sooner. More testing shortly. I'll come back after.UPDATE - I've connected a small solar panel for my initial testing. Couldn't be more pleased with what Krieger supplies with their units. The strong flexible cables make easy connections.Trying to find some flaws but so far I am impressed.UPDATE - Still a noticeable difference in fluorescent lights and how they react to the lower voltage I put out. But I like this machine. Solar controller and battery hookup works so good with the manufacturer supplied cables and stuff. It's perfect for the solar panel approach. It has to be just as effective when using it in a vehicle as well. I am going to void my warranty on this and tinker some. Would love to adjust the voltage output. But I like this machine!

This is a really well made power inverter. Quality feel and construction. The features are great and love the backlit info display showing battery voltage and wattage output. It comes with a plug in wired remote, fuse block and 3ft of battery connecting cable. I bought this inverter to power a small 700 watt microwave in my RV. This quiet 1100w inverter will run a cheap small microwave no problem which are usually 700 watt cooking units with a 1100w power input rating. Because this is a modified sine wave inverter, expect a microwave to buzz louder and operate at about 2/3 of the rated cooking power, and also consume less power as well. — ie: Instead of 3 mins to heat water normally, it will take up to 5 mins on a modified sine wave power source. If the noise and reduced cooking power is a problem then look for a more expensive 1500w pure sine wave inverter. Otherwise I am very happy with the performance and quality of this 1100w inverter. I can reheat my coffee and make popcorn while camping!

Installed in my boat.Pros:Easy to install. Great quality inverter. Included Bus Fuse is a nice touch. Included wired remote allows the inverter to be installed in an out-of-the-way location such as a cupboard. Quiet. Auto low-battery shutoff is a nice touch.Cons:Its provided with an install kit that has nice heavy gauge cables, but at 3' they are no where near long enough to be practical unless you are installing the inverter next to your batteries. I used an old pair of booster cables to run power from the engine room to the inverter.Remote switch would benefit from a voltage display.Overall:For the price, this is awesome value for money, let down by an impractical installation kit if you need to install it away from the batteries.
