I used a bottle of 50 of these and they are highly accurate. Test strips are convenient form factor but not quite as precise as a dropper test. However, they work close enough for day to day needs. Once the water is balanced they will let you know if your levels moves outside the ideal range. If this happens (after rain) I bring a water sample to the store (where I need to go for chemicals anyway) and they test for the most accurate reading possible while letting you know just how much of a chemical to add.For the money, and convenience, these Lamotte Insta-Test strips cant be beat. Unlike some other strip tests on the market these are pretty accurate. This accuracy may be why all the local pool stores sell this brand only.

I was chasing my water hardness in my spa for months! Finally suspected the strips I was using were crap, and took a sample down to my spa company who tested it and, sure enough, the test stripes were lying to me. Tossed them out and bought this brand...what a difference. The dip and test is about the same, but the readings are right on! If your having some weird readings, then get your water tested, and if the values don't match your test strips, then toss them and go with these guys. They are accurate.
