Product Review: Yarn WinderI recently purchased a yarn winder and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I bought this so that I could re-wind all of my skeins of yarn for better storage and organizations. It does it's job well and was super easy to assemble and use. I do however, have a few complaints.1) It started squeaking super loud every time I turned the handle once I got to my second skein of yarn. My fiance tried taking it apart and using WD40 on it, but it didn't seem to help. It was only once he started spraying it in any crack/opening to try to get to the issue, did it help. So far, it hasn't started squeaking since.2) The piece that holds it onto the table can't get hand-tight enough to keep it on the edge of the table. I'm not even going super crazy with winding it or anything, and even if I tighten it as tight as I can possibly get it with my hands alone, it will still occasionally fly off at me in the middle of winding.3) It can only hold so much yarn before it starts getting caught. I usually just buy the standard sized skeins from Michaels or Joanns, and I'll be about half-three quarters of the way done winding it, and I'll have to manually hold the wire piece (that feeds the yarn through) out further because it starts catching on the already winded yarn and makes everything loose/tangled. It happens when I use thin yarn and standard sized yarn.Regardless, I think despite those few complaints, it does what I want it to and I got it for a reasonable price. If you're looking to be mindful of your budget yet still wind yarn up, then I recommend it. All of my complaints are fixable/maneuverable, it is just at the cost of you having to do an extra step or wind a little slower.

If your table has a slightly rounded edge it kinda rocks back and forth but that's all that wrong. the smaller needles are super cute and sturdy. super easy to use even though I don't have the other thing that you can get to help with it. works with my acrylic yarn just don't hold a whole new roll of yarn but I don't mind! I recommend getting it! but if you don't need tiny crochet needles, go for the cheaper one with just the spinner!

I got this as my first yarn winder. I really liked it at first but it was a little finicky to work with. It’s super easy to assemble and use but the yarn can get stuck under the winder easily which can be a hassle. It really does only wind 3.5oz of yarn or less so if you typically buy yarn from a craft store it will not wind the entire skein, unless you really try to make it lol. The cakes it makes aren’t the most compact so it falls apart a little when handling. It’s a good option and I would definitely recommend getting it on sale if you can but there are better options on Amazon for $5-10 more dollars. I recently got the craft destiny one (green and white) for $34 and it is a lot better than this one because it’s easier to use, winds WAYYY more yarn and creates a better cake. I don’t typically write reviews but I needed to write this one in case anyone is looking for a yarn winder for the first time and thinks they all will perform the same because they won’t! Again, this is not a bad option but if you have a few extra dollars to spare I would recommend getting another one!

I was sceptical about this, so I first tried it out on a blanket that needed to be uncorked because of a consistent major error. It actually took away some of the pain of having to frog 1/3 of a blanket! Fun, quick, pretty quiet. Makes decent size (~4oz) cakes, nice tension in the cake. Very impressed.
