The ends have a little distortion, but only about 3/4 inch on each side when 12 inches wide. One thing to note, if you take the lens off, you will see that the laser is putting out a rectangle, not a spot, so not only do you need to focus the lens, but you will see that only in one orientation of the laser body will the line be the thinnest it can be. Since the lens rotates with the focus, the focus is only accurate to 1/2 of a turn of the focus ring. So to keep the focus as tight as possible when rotating the line, you need to turn the whole body, not just the focus ring.

These are really nicely built. They arent dinky laser modules like those in a cheap laser pointer... they are quite heavy! The only drawback it that they are only 5mw so are quite dim (why 4 not 5 stars).

Very bright, focus ring leaves a lot to be desired. Fine lines cannot be achieved. Works ok for the application. Quite inexpensive.

Perfect solution for my machine embroidery placement. Just connect to battery box and secure to my work lamp. Cross lines make positioning embroidery easy. I saw a YouTube video and got the idea from that.

These are great to hook directly up to a 5V USB supply, piggyback off of your opener light, and point to your windshield wipers. Works perfectly with the space 5V USB power supply

I ordered this product in a quantity of two, meaning the same item twice in one order, but I received two different lasers in terms of shape, appearance, and functionality. I am giving 5 stars because for my project, both the first and the second are equally perfect, and they both work as they should. However, the larger one has a different casing and a focusing ring, which I do not see on the smaller laser. It might also have it, but without the stiffening ribs. In general, if size matters to you, it might be worth notifying the seller before or immediately after purchasing these lasers. The photos even show that this is a product with the same barcode.

I haven't used these in my project yet; but I have given them a quick test and they seem to work fine. Solid metal jacket, high output, and an excellent focus ring. Quick delivery, and a good price.
