At 5V these draw 22.31mA. I ran one for a few weeks as an intermittent indicator light to show when the heater was running in the greenhouse - but it burned out. Testing showed a 91 Ohm resistor in series with the laser diode which dropped 3 Volts. I reconfigured my indicator with a 49 Ohm resistor feeding 2 laser diodes in parallel - each laser now gets 10.5mA dropping the power dissipation from 67 to 31mW so they should last much longer.
