Yes, six and a half years ago I purchased this fan here on Amazon. I never considered posting a review of it before because, well--it's a fan. It spins around and blows air, as fans do. Then the other night, as I was researching some other electronic appliances for purchase and trying to figure out how well they hold up over time, it dawned on me that this Lasko product deserved a positive review that would hopefully alleviate concerns that others might have on buying such an item sight unseen.The fan was purchased to move the air around in a stuffy upstairs bedroom, while also providing white noise for sleeping. It excels in both respects, although I'd caution that one man's "white noise" is another man's "annoyance"--the unit is hardly silent, and if you plan on using the highest (of three) fan settings you're going to notice the noise. Even on the lowest speed I can see how it could disturb those who prefer dead silence as their background noise. For me this is a positive feature (I struggle to sleep without that steady drone), but if you value silence above all else this is ~not~ the right product for you.Set-up was easy and self-explanatory; I can say this with certainty even after all these years because it does require breaking back down for periodic cleaning. The unit is fairly bulky, particularly regarding the base plate which does a great job of stabilizing the fan even on high speed, but does so at the cost of taking up a sizeable amount of floor space. Fortunately, the included remote control (which has worked flawlessly since purchase with, to the best of my recollection, only two battery changes) means that the fan can be tucked into a corner without concern over being able to reach the controls, with the notable caveat that you cannot remotely change between oscillating and stationary.What I want to stress most of all, though, is that this fan has had ~zero~ mechanical issues over the six and a half years I've owned it. And we're not talking occasional use here, either--between keeping the airflow moving during the day and providing white noise at night, it has been running ~far~ more often than not over these years. During the summer the fan is generally left running (on high) for literally 5-6 MONTHS at a time--not "every night for months", but literally 24 hours a day, every day, for 5-6 months!! I'll be the first to admit that the construction ~feels~ flimsy when you first unpack and assemble it, but the results don't lie: this fan has been unbelievably durable. And not just mechanically, either--even after at least a dozen dis-assemblies for cleaning, the plastic clips which hold the plastic casing in place have held up beautifully as well (I distinctly remember thinking during the first assembly that there was no way those things would last--I was very wrong!).I cannot comment on how well the timer function works as I obviously haven't used it, and as alluded to the blades will pick up a good amount of gunk over time which requires regular wipe-downs (as any bladed fan will). Overall, though, if you're not scared off by the size of the unit and don't mind the steady droning of a fan while sleeping or going about your day, I cannot recommend this product more highly. If it ever ~does~ break down, I will gladly purchase another to replace it!

I am quite pleased with this fan. Easy to assemble. Easy to adjust. Easy to move around. Easy to operate. I really appreciate the remote control and the timer - fan is great for cooling a bedroom at night but being able to turn it off before getting out of bed in the morning. It's not real quiet, but the "white noise" is good for sleeping and it's not so loud that it is disruptive, so not an issue for me. Price was reasonable.

It’s a fan. Nothing about this fan will surprise you if you’ve ever owned a fan before. It has a good motor and a high speed, maintaining consistent air flow without getting hot or petering out. The oscillating function means that you can use it to circulate air in the whole room or, if you prefer, shut that function off and push all air in one steady direction, as required.Personally, I use mine to keep air circulating around my writing desk. To best utilize space in my old, outdated apartment, I needed to put my writing desk at an angle where the central heat and air conditioning don’t move air very effectively. Therefore, to maintain a constant liveable temperature while writing, I need to circulate air into that area. This fan works well for circulating already temperature controlled air.My only objection is, while the oscillating function works well for panning horizontally, it doesn’t have any vertical movement. You can angle the head a little, but not enough to make any difference. Although the pedestal is adjustable, letting you put the fan at the vertical height you need it, once you have it positioned, it stays there. If you need air at an angle, this fan won’t help you.That being said, for its price range, my experiences have been mostly positive. This fan runs quietly, doesn’t consume much energy, and has lasted me several years since I bought it without running down. As long as you don’t need to angle it to blow over or under something, it will serve you well, and probably continue serving a good long time. It’s a mostly positive product for its price.

I bought this fan for my Mother, and she loves it. It is very quiet, even when on high. Everything works great on it so far, it was easy to put togther, and the price was about right for what you get. People have told Mom and me it is a futuristic and stylish looking fan, which I guess is a plus. Don't know if Mom will ever use the timer function, but it is a nice energy saving feature for those who would use it. I also like placement of where the operation buttons are located on the fan, on the front under the blades where it is much easier to adjust than on the back or on the fan motor itself.One note about the remote (or two). It does not come with AAA batteries, and the batteries I put in it are not new, so I can't tell if my having trouble getting the fan to respond to the remote is because the remote signal is very narrow or the weak batteries I installed. One more thing. My mother is 76 and has very arthritic hands, which caused her pain when trying to press the remote buttons. I had no problem myself (other than a very narrow remote signal path or weak AAA batteries) pressing the buttons, but the fan did not consistently respond to the remote. Just something to think about if you are in the same situation. Mom just uses the front buttons on the fan, which are pretty large and labeled cleary and are very easy to press.The remote is not a deal breaker even if it turns out fresh batteries don't help (I am going to test that out and update my review afterwards). I'm thinking I might get one of these to use at the church where I play my drums, it would be just what the doctor ordered since I sometimes forget to turn off my fan, so the timer on this one would be perfect to keep the Pastor's wife off me.

Just finishing putting mine together and now up and running with exact results anticipated, it works perfectly for air circulation and cooling in the large main open concept living area of my condo.Noted on recent trip to carribean these fans were a staple in the main areas of condos we were renting, so knew exactly what to expect and how it performed.

Assembly was very easy. Unfortunately, the fan was dead. I tried it in a number of different outlets, but it would not turn on.I contacted their Customer Service line, and they asked for product number and serial number, then told me they will send a replacement unit right away, but it would likely take 7 to 10 business days.Update: The replacement fan has still not arrived. I contacted Customer Service, and they gave me a tracking number which revealed the fan was sent to the wrong address (wrong country). They sent out another replacement fan and again said it would take 7-10 business days.The second replacement has not arrived. I sent an email to them telling them I wish for a refund. They replied saying: "This is a reminder that we have not forgot about you. We have received (#######) and we are working quickly to respond to all of our customers in a timely manner. We thank you for your continued patience. It's been a week since the reply, and still nothing. I feel like this is going to go nowhere, and I basically threw away the money I paid for this fan.
