I bought this light meter to do some light readings outside at night on commercial buildings. Was skeptical at first since the price was great... but after taking several readings the lux readouts it gave seemed to be pretty accurate. I used the readings to determine if additional lighting needed to be added on the buildings or not. So overall it worked great for the 3 sites I needed the info on. It even comes with a battery to get you started when you buy it.

The unit works and I will keep it but this is the 3rd package this week from Amazon with crushed damaged contents. I never wright reviews but what's up Amazon lately with the damaged merchandise.

I needed a way to calibrate my solar irradiance measurement sensor on a solar panel array and this piece of meter met my requirements. I compared this meter to a friend's very expensive NIST certified meter and it read within 2% or better of the NIST certified meter. That kind of accuracy is good enough for me.

I bought this to measure LED lumens. I could not get it to do it. It registered only a fraction of the actual lumens.

This is a good quality lux meter, same as other meters 1/3 its price. DO NOT BUY A LATNEX LM-50KL if you require a calibration certificate for any reason - it does not come with one - contrary to advertising. What you get is a manufacturer's promotional tag of paper indicating membership in ISO 9001, that's all. Utterly useless! You may as well buy any brand, as the LM-50KL is not certified accurate to any specifications, and you certainly will not be able to prove it is.
