I love the ease of use with this meter, and it doesn't hurt that it is so very accurate. Great product, would definitely recommend.

Trying to grow Orchids under lights and this helped me get the lights set correctly. At least I assume it's correct. I have no clue how to test or calibrate it.

I purchased this to prove I was not imagining changes in our led ceiling fan/light. Whenever we dim the light to not be so intense, we noticed that after a period of time, the room would be brighter.I was able to prove that the lights get brighter by themselves, which means a defective control on our light. This tool was inexpensive, and it helped prove me right!

The meter has been calibrated using a standard light source so readings should be accurate. It's very easy to use and covers a very wide range of light intensities.

I had been using a phone app to measure light intensity for Amazon reviews, but I wasn't sure I trusted it. For $20 this looked like a good possibility for accuracy and consistency. Well, maybe.Good:• Photo-sensing head rotates 180°. Allows you to "aim" at the source and still read the screen.• Four Modes : Realtime, Hold, Max, Min.• Lux or Foot-candles. Defaults to Lux.• Backlit screen. Actually, I hadn't noticed this and gave that lack a "Negative", then saw the website and that it was backlit. Press and hold the temp button! Nice.Uncertain:• Accuracy. Generally reads lower than my phone for LEDs and slightly higher for "natural" light (e.g., sunlight and incandescent). It also bounces around somewhat for LEDs, but that may be an LED artifact.• When it boots, the screen shows speeds and RH. One size fits all? See photo. Not so good:• The "temperature" is the ambient temp, not the light's color temp. I'm not sure that I care what the room's temp is. For me, the light's temp is important in reviews.• If you do care what the ambient temp is, the system always defaults to °C.• Auto-powers off unexpectedly. I haven't delved into this much, just happened to notice that I thought I was getting a measurement, but wasn't.All in all, I'd now probably spend a few more dollars and get something a bit better, with light temp. I find I'm still using my phone app for measurements.Edit Feb 2021: I now see that the manufacturer specifies "grow lights" and "room temp". Not quite what I was told initially, but you are now forewarned.

Good enough quality to get the job done. Great value. Easy to use. Cover and backlight are a plus!
