This lazy susan looks beautiful and spins nice too. Right after I bought it and saw how nice it was, my husband said I should buy another one so I did. Both arrived the next day after I ordered it. VERY pleased!

First, I think you as a shopper might get a better take on my rating if you know why I bought it in the first place. I love hot sauce. I got a bunch. I also love my great grandchildren........I got a bunch of them too. My old but perfectly fine lazy Susan made of marble was completely flat, flat as the state of Kansas flat. No lip, no sides, not even a hump. I think you can see where I'm going with this. Tiny curious hands and broken bottles. So.... I wanted something wood to accent our granite tabletop as well as something with a high lip or sides to contain everything when.....well..... imagine what happens when a 2 year old spins a lazy Suzan full of hot sauce bottles as hard as their tiny little meat pinchers can. Yeah. Ok, the good: Its real wood, acacia and its beautiful. The sides are a perfect height. Little hands can't easily pull those bottles out :) Also good .........it has handles built into the side so it can be easily moved around. Lastly it's a standard size, about 12 inches across and even considering the sides I was still able to get every bottle back on this new lazy Suzan except for one single bottle so not bad. The sides are surprisingly thick too, maybe 3/8 of an inch? Here's the bad: The manufacturer made a terrible choice on the spin mechanism on the bottom. First problem, it's not big enough. Here's is how you can tell. When you put an item on a lazy Suzan it should not move.....at all...period. One item on there or 5 items on there, it should not tip, or lean. Next, the spin should be mostly effortless. OK, it shouldn't spin like a kids top, I get that but it should spin a little at least after you let go of it. This does not. I mentioned above about my reasons for buying this? Oddly enough that's the reason I'm keeping it. The great grand kids aren't gonna be able to spin this like a wheel of fortune contestant. The spin mechanism is all plastic and if there ARE ball bearings under there I'm bettin they are plastic too so who knows about long term durability right? So there you have it. It looks beautiful, it does the job but it doesn't spin well and durability is up in the air, hope that helps.

The cardboard box this came in is better quality than this lazy susan. First, the item was shrink wrapped, which put undo stress on the wood and probably contributed to the other problems: The sides do not have a graceful outward curve, they are straight up and down. Actually they bend in slightly, probably due to the aforementioned shrink wrap. The sides do not align with the bottom piece with a nice sanded edge, they don't align with the edge of the base at all and are slightly undersized for the base. The wood is cracked at the bottom of both handles. The sides are not completely glued all around. In fact there are visible gaps. The base is warped, again probably due to the shrink wrap. The wood is rough, with apparently no finish sanding having been done prior to whatever finish they applied. All in all, a horrible purchase which is going to be returned to Amazon at my earliest convenience.
