Very fast and accurate component tester. Easy to use in circuit and out of circuit.

The interface seems decent, and the display looks really nice (compared to the super cheap alternatives). Capacitance measurements were not consistent (almost a 20% range of values measuring the same capacitor!), and the "auto" mode really just tries to measure resistance, and if it seems like a resistor, it's labeled a resistor... even if it's an inductor or capacitor. I needed to manually select the mode for each component, as "auto" could not be trusted. (All of my tests were done on loose components, out of circuit. I did not test any components in circuit.)All of that was actually fine, and I would have kept the tester if those were the only flaws. Unfortunately, there is a much larger issue (in my opinion). The tester can only put out 0.6 volts. That may not seem like that much of a limitation, but the majority of standard diodes (1N4148, 1N400x, LEDs, etc) are actually 0.65 or greater. Since this can't put out more than 0.6v, it simply reports all of those diodes as BAD/OPEN! That includes a large number of BJTs and even some MOSFETs! The whole purpose of this tester (for me) was to be able to quickly check small component values, and in some cases, determine what a component was. Given the issues reported above and the huge issue with diodes, this tester was of absolutely no use to me (I returned it).If all you need to do is test a few resistors, and maybe even a few capacitors (assuming you don't need the values to be super accurate), then this may be the tester for you.If you want to determine what a device is automatically (and reliably), accurately measure values or test the most common types of diodes or transistors - Buy a better tester. This is obviously not intended to fill those roles.

This handy tool is a fantastic addition to any electronics kit, replacing multiple other devices for identifying components. It’s accurate compared to other consumer-grade methods, based on similar devices tested online. The automatic function is a standout feature, making it easy to use and efficient for quick measurements. Compact, reliable, and effective—I highly recommend it!

I really like the idea of this meter. Although the functionality does not follow through. It’s easy to use that is very well designed. On components that could be tested the accuracy was close enough to determine a bad component. The auto identification was not reliable as many times components were mis identified so manually selecting components is a must. I was getting false readings on diodes and did not understand why until I read in another review that the output voltage of this unit falls below the standard threshold to switch or activate the component. I don’t know if I would have realized that was the issue. But that eliminates a lot of the capabilities of this device.

At work, I have a professional LCR meter (E4980A) and did a comparison. This meter is spot on right out of the box. There’s an option to calibrate it yourself, but I didn’t need to touch it, as it’s already as accurate as I can get it.It's much quicker and more accurate to use than a GM328A or other simple testers. However, be cautious: it lacks meaningful protection, so make sure there is no power on the device before testing. Also, short all the larger capacitors (just use the resistance setting on your multi-meter) to avoid any issues.

I like the convenience factor for testing components, as you only need one hand for this unit, but while many things seem to measure accurately, capacitance is not one of them. See pics for example. I used a 47 microfarad cap and measured it with the capacitance setting on my Fluke meter, and got 51.9 microfarads. My multi tester measured capacitance at 51.26 microfarads. When I measured the same cap with this tester, I got a resistance measurement, meaning the tester couldn't figure out it was a capacitor at all. The fact that I can't trust the reading this tool gives takes away from the nice convenience factor in a big way.
