liked that it is of small size, but still easy to use. Purchased it to gain some transistors for a project that I am assembling, but will have plenty of other uses in electronics.

Transistor Tester this is what I needed

My old transistor tester started eratic behavior, so to finish a project, I bought the TC-1. Based on thefavorable reviews over a long period in the marketplace I felt comfortable, plus it's cheap. I was carefulnot to test charged capacitors or any component in circuit. It seemed to work OK at first, and thenbegan to not read, or would read the indentical new transistors out of circuit. Then it started identifyingtransistors with the pinout backwards. The leads are also way too delicate (which I expected) and requiredrepairing several times due to broken solder connection. I should also mention I did read the little instruction sheet and performed the calibration before initial use and several other times. I did return itfor a partial refund, and subsequently bought the Peak DCA-55 which so far seems to be working OK.

Its a nice tester for basic data. Its not very accurate when it comes to FET Rds measurements but other than that I found if very useful for the price.

Tried to measure the ESR of the capacitor that came in the box and it consistently shows 1.6 to 2 ohm.In the box is a 25V 10uf capacitor.According to all the charts i looked at online it should be 5.3 ohm not 1.6 to 2 ohm. I also tried a bunch of caps i had - same result when i looked them up on a chart this test device was always wrong.I tried the self calibration procedure about a dozen times - did not change any values it was coming up with. Will return and try a different brand -even though they all look the same to me, some YouTube reviews say these "TC1" type testers work for ESR - we will see.

Product is good, but I found the instructions confusing, The instructions tell you what it can do, but now how to do it. After watching some youtube videos, it turned out to be easy to use. I tested a few components with it and the readouts were accurate. I plan to use it to double-check component values before soldering them to a circuit board and to quickly identify stray components.

Doesn't give good results for ESR measurements. Example: the included capacitor (10uf 25v alu) shows 1.2 ESR. When I solder a 4r7 1% resistor in series, I get 3.6 ESR! Checked the capacitor using a function generator and scope, I see 1.6 ESR (or 6.3 with the resistor in series).Seems to be better than my cheap multimeter for measuring small cap values. Ok for inductors but only goes down to 10uH. Zif socket is poor quality.Overall not worth it for the price.

I bought the cheapest one. works for my need. It will not show you what the component is (j201, 2n222,...) works be description. I use it for matching transistors. good built look feels like it will last. no cheep parts, USB plug in. came with cable to plug in. no idea accuracy. check you tube. LCR-TC1. -that why I bought. you can also build the circuit- less cost. - I just wanted to look like the cool kids.

As stated above does not detect GE transistorsCaps and resistors are close in readings to the 3 DMM I have, but the 3 DMM read the same for caps and resistors. Would not buy again
