I've tested a few places in the house. And I've tested my water and thank God no lead as I live in an older home. It's easy to do and easy to read if you have any concerns about lead I suggest you buy this well worth the money

This was so easy and convenient and definitely be having to go to the lab for testing. The directions were so simple you can't beat it. The speed of the test is awesome it only took minutes, this is a great quality test and I highly suggested

The kit is fairly easy to use and sometimes indicates if there is lead, but most of the items I tested did not indicate they contained lead--so I guess thatรขโฌโขs a good thing. I donรขโฌโขt know if I would 100% rely on this if I really suspected a high level of lead but I suppose it can provide some peace of mind. It does use vinegar so be careful if you have an antique or something very valuable because there is a risk it could take some paint off. At about $16 for 50 test swabs I think itรขโฌโขs a good value.

I got this because our last house we lived in was riddled with lead only found out because my babies got lead poisoning and we were never told there was lead so I wanted to be safe and this really does work it showed positive where there was and negative where there wasn't and not very pricy

I bought this, and a water activated version. The water activated was much easier to use. Color change on this product was slow and spotty, so no clear results. I eventually tested it on a piece of lead. It did eventually turn red, but you had to rub a lot to see a result.

This testing kit is fantastic! Easy to use, clear instructions, and quick results. Highly recommend for anyone needing reliable lead testing. It gives results quickly and clearly, and for the price you get a lot of swabs. Great value!

Lead test kit (50 lead test swabs) - Did not show a positive test with leadWe live in an old house, so have started testing for lead, mold, asbestos, etc. We were glad to get this kit because for how old the house is, we were sure there would be lead in the paint or SOMEwhere, but so far over a dozen tests - paint, old plates, metal grates, solder on a crown, plus about 15 other things - have come back negative. So we don't know if it's good news, or if the tests aren't returning accurate results. Based on other reviews, it seems it could be either one.I can't recommend because I can't confirm it works. I'll update if I get a lead-positive result.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.UPDATE: I found something that is all lead and it did not register, so we're looking for another testing kit to replace this one.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

These strips do exactly as they say. I never had any issues with these. The tips all turned orange when dipped in vinegar. I bought new coffee cups from China and had some concern for lead. I ended up testing all our coffee cups and a handful did show to have lead. These cups were all from before the 80's. None of the newer cups showed lead. I now have peace of mind and those mugs I bought are now my favorite. When in doubt, check it out. :)

You never know sometimes if these things are going to work or not. I always test/calibrate the tester, so that I know. It indicates accurately.Easy to use as billed.

Didnรขโฌโขt even register positive for lead, even when applied to a piece of lead.

Pros:- Easy to use and it works- Fairly sensitive- Effective on various materialsCons:- No control test included (but you can create one)The SJ WAVE Lead Test Kit (50 Lead Test Swabs) has been tested to work well. I am relieved to find that the most frequently used brand-name porcelain bowls made in 1999 do not contain lead. Furthermore, our newly acquired porcelain butter container, which claimed to be lead-free, was indeed lead-free. I am so happy. The most frequently used digital thermometer probe also passed with flying colours. None of my kitchenware was damaged by the test.I have a glass container that fluoresces blue under UV light but it tested negative for lead using this kit. This tells me that for low levels of lead in glassware, the fluorescent method is more reliable. Nevertheless, the UV lead test can only be used on glassware.Unfortunately, the kit did not come with a control test for lead. I was fortunate to find an old roll of solder which contains 40% lead. Just swabbing the solder twice caused the swab to turn slightly purple. After 30 seconds of swabbing the solder, the swab turned almost black. This assured me that the swab was indeed working!I am sharing my self-confirming test procedure as follows:1) Dip the swab in white vinegar in the test tube provided for a few seconds until the swab turns orange.2) Use the swab to rub the surface being tested for 30 seconds. Note that the orange colour may fade quickly, but the strength remains.3) Check if there is any colour change of the swab to red, purple, or black according to the colour chart on the box. If there is a colour change, the surface contains lead.4) If no colour change, which means a negative test, use the same swab to swab a known lead-containing object (in my case, the old solder). Make sure the swab turns colour to indicate lead. This step ensures that the swab used for lead testing a moment ago is indeed functional. We can be sure the negative test result is genuine and not a malfunction of the swab.Overall, I find this product works very well and is indispensable for my home use. I can recommend this product to anyone serious about their health.
