I got two of these for my brother's 4 year old twins. They loved the lights and the sound. They worked great right out of the package and provided hours of entertainment. I cannot tell you about durability or sturdiness because my brother is still not talking to me.

I bought this product to use this week--first at our local pub, where we went to watch a local band we just started to follow, and then at a wedding reception, where we enjoyed music provided by a really great DJ couple. At both venues, the lighted tambourines were a sensational hit! Everyone in each crowd wanted a turn to play with our new toys. I had priced a similar product at Kohl's where it was $35 retail for just one LED tambourine. This product offers two tambourines for less than half that price! The tambourines are sturdy (stood up to a cranky two year old at the reception who threw the tambourine down on the dance floor more than once), attractive, and SO MUCH FUN!

If all you care about is a toy that makes noise and lights up, then this serves its purpose well.Unfortunately it doesn't sound very good when played, in fact it's a very annoying and grating sound.It's plastic, so of course it won't sound as a good as a real tambourine, but it's somehow so high pitch I can only describe it as alarmingly shrill.Don't get it to be played within a house or for your own kids, you'll regret it. If anything get it for someone else's kids to annoy their parents.

The buttons get stuck and are cheaply made. The batteries ran out on the second day as we were unable to shut the dang thing off.
