This string is versatile and so fun for many different types of crafts. The color is a little darker and beige looking than the Amazon photo I would say, and it does seem expensive, but I guess most string is nowadays. I made a wrapped surfboard (as seen in my photo) and the string was durable and seemingly good quality. The photo may make it look slightly darker than it is because of the low light, but it’s definitely not pure white. Overall it is great and I do recommend it
