This study journal is very soothing to the eye. The soft tones are pleasing and are welcoming. The journal itself, is very functional, providing an organized layout for studying the Bible and for writing notes. After ordering one for myself, my sister liked it so much that she ordered two. There are several features, like inspiring notes that go along with the sections for note taking and for referencing.

This is a neat bible study journal. However, there were some things I wished the journal covered (mostly, that you could also take notes in it when you are at church) but I realized that one journal couldn't cover everything and that this one, while lacking in some areas, covered a lot that would help with my bible study.Mostly, this journal has three different areas that you have pages for:1. Chapter Studies2. Verse Study3. Character StudyIn the beginning of this journal you can also track your reading of the Old and New Testament over several pages and have two pages to keep encouraging bible verses and one to keep memorable verses. Each of the study pages in this journal include two pages that repeat throughout the journal. I don’t know how many pages there are of each study to fill in- but I assume there are over twenty of each of the different chapter, verse and character studies (as I wish I had the time to count how many entries of each the journaler could make but I don’t have that kind of time). Like I said, there are a lot.The chapter studies give you a place to write the current date, along with the book and chapter of the chapter study. Then you fill in the primary theme/ focus, key figures, context and setting, symbolism/ imagery, terms/ concepts, and related cross references. There is also a place for key verses and the core message/ takeaway. On the second page of the chapter study there are three sections with lines after each, to fill in your answer. The first section gives a place to write about notes, insights and key takeaways. Then, the application to your (it says my- in the journal) life. Lastly, there is a spot to write in a prayer, my favorite aspect to the chapter studies, as I can create my own prayer over what I covered in my entry. This page will be the same for all of the different studies in the journal so I can write an original prayer at the end of each study!Next is the verse study- where first, you write the date and then the verse of the day. Next, you write down the left hand side- the main message/ summary, different translations, and related cross references. On the right hand side there are spots where you are asked to write about- the author, who was it (the verse) written for, setting/ context, symbols & imagery, you are asked why this verse is significant, keywords/ definition and biblical usage of keywords. The second page, reflection- asks the same things that the chapter study reflection page does.Lastly, the character study again gives you a place to write the date and then the characters name and the meaning of the name. Next, you are asked to record key scripture, character qualities/ traits. Main stories/ significant events, background & origin, time period, strengths, weaknesses and last, how did God use them. Once more, the reflection page after this first page is the same as the verse and chapter study reflection pages. All the sections are separated by a page and lots of cool stickers are included (three pages, in fact) that you can slide in a pocket on the back of this journal cover. There are three ribbons in the middle to mark pages, along with a place you can keep a pen on the back cover edge and an elastic band that you can take from the back of the book and wrap around the front- in case you need to keep the journal together or if you have something stuck between the pages. Plus, when I said I wanted a place to take notes at church- there is quite a bit of space at the back, where the journal gives writers lined pages to fill in.This is a journal that is going to be very helpful in my bible study and gives me a chance to expand on what I’ve done in the past- as I’ve never done character studies before- so it’s something new that I’m very excited about. Plus, I’ve never studied chapters and verses in this way before- had something scripted, that is the same for every chapter and verse I study, that I can repeatedly use. Also, that I have been given three different types of studies, that I can work on all at once- doing a chapter, verse and character study at the same time.

If you’re looking for a Bible study journal that keeps you organized, engaged, and maybe even feeling a little accomplished, this one delivers. Designed for self guided study, because sometimes you just want to dive in without a curriculum telling you what to do, this journal offers a well structured approach to exploring scripture on your own terms. It includes a reading tracker that lets you mark off each section as you go, so you never have to wonder whether you actually finished Exodus or just meant to. The chapter study templates provide a structured way to break down a particular chapter, making it easier to absorb and reflect on. There are also dedicated sections for verse study and character study, allowing you to either focus on the impact of a single verse or map out the spiritual journey of key biblical figures. On top of its functionality, the journal is beautifully bound in hardcover, giving it a polished, durable feel that makes it a worthy addition to your bookshelf rather than just another notebook that gets lost in a pile. It strikes the perfect balance between structure and flexibility, providing guidance without being restrictive. Plus, let’s be honest, checking off that reading tracker is just so satisfying.

I'm going to start with the basic attributes. The journal itself is very nice quality. I'm sure if you tried you could find a pen to bleed through the paper, however you'd have to work at it. It's the same quality of journal that I strive to get for my bullet journals. There's directions for each section of the journal. They are clear and easy to understand. If you're already familiar with the Bible and different study concepts it's actually pretty self explanatory.Unlike many study journals I've tried, this one has prompts that make sense to me, and I don't see myself struggling with any of the prompts. There are a lot of Bible study journals out there. Not every format works for every person. I've tried many different ones throughout the years. Most end up started with enthusiasm yet end up being too big a struggle for me to be able to continue with. Just because a format works for me doesn't mean it works for everyone. I just feel that's an important thing to consider when choosing a Bible study journals.Personally I really like this one's format. I am very impressed by the journal itself's quality. And honestly, I love the stickers.
