Our fireplace had started igniting slowly when we turned the electronic switch on, then the flame started going out after a fairly short time, and finally it stopped igniting altogether. Installing this thermocouple made our gas logs work like they did when they were first installed a number of years ago. Ease of installation will depend on your model of logs, and with ours it was difficult. However, that is not a function of the thermocouple. Ever since I got it installed our fireplace has worked great, with the flame igniting instantly every time and staying lit for several weeks now.

We have a Superior natural gas fireplace that rarely gets used but during the holidays it's nice to have on for the ambience. A year or so back it just got all possessed and kept turning itself in and off. After my laziness passed I ordered this and tore into the fireplace. Took a little more time and a lot more work than expected but this was a perfect replacement and it now works great.

This thermocouple was a perfect fit for the fireplace and the tube was longer than my old one. The result was an easier installation versus the short old thermocouple. I originally got the wrong one because there are two ignitor assemblies for my fireplace. So, may need to be careful about that.

Voltage okay. Had to grind the sensor down as too large to fit my stove. Didn't have to remove much material.
