looks fine, cover and protects the lens, a little tough to open but that is ok, then i know it would open when i don't want it too. feels plenty durable and like it will last.

It protects my lens and pretty easy to use. It did get stuck and wouldn’t open. I used silicone grease which helped. I used it on a freshwater kayaking trip and lens cap is stuck wide open, offering no protection from scratching, water droplets. Garbage . Returns in 30 days and it’s 1.5 months so it’s not refundable. I give it 1 star at most

The concept is good - the performance bad. It worked fine for about one month - then became tougher and tougher to open or close the iris. Eventually locked closed and would not open. When trying to open cheap plastic teeth that held it to camera snapped and unit would not stay on camera. If you want to pay $15 for a lens cover that will work for about one month, this is your item!

This is an essential accessory for this camera. I've had zero problems with it and don't understand the negative reviews. Simply twist open or closed. If you are using a lot of force and/or it's breaking, then maybe you are damaging it another way. Leaving in the sun? Placing in a tight pocket? Packing your camera next to a lot of other heavy stuff? Note: The Olympus camera and this lens cover is not intended to receive the same abuse as a typical cell phone.

I found this to not be up to the task of a waterproof camera. However, it's cheap enough that I don't mind replacing it when it's (short) lifespan is up.I have a tough/waterproof camera because I take an annual rafting trip. The camera gets bang up occasionally. This cover does a great job protecting the lens. The camera is (obviously) getting wet. After about 5 days getting wet, the twist mechanism deteriorated rapidly until I forced it open and left it there. For an underwater camera, I would expect an accessory to work better than that.Besides the above functionality, I'm a fan of the twisting mechanism to open and close it. It's usually a quick twist and you're done, though when it gets wet, it's a bit harder to twist open, especially as I got into day 5 (and forget about operating it with wet hands on day 6 - serious force is required).Despite the average quality of this, I've already bought 2 because of the price and the functionality it provides.

The lens protective cover lives up to expectations, works as expected and was easily fit onto the camera.

I'm actually surprised that the TG-6 does not have a lens cover to begin with. That being said, this one fits perfectly and works exactly as it should.Price is good, in my opinion this is a must have to prevent damaging the lens inadvertantly.

I was initially disappointed with how difficult this little Z-cap was to open and close. To the point where I was worried about damaging my TG-7 mount. But after a week or so and nearly chucking it I realized that it works quite well if you grip it just enough to turn and avoid compressing cap. It's such a flimsy bit of plastic that a tight grip distorts it enough to bind and resist turning. Hope this saves others from giving up on it.

Bought this bac a while ago, we don't use the camera very much but now of course it no longer works. Save your money and go to Olympus and buy the cosmetic ring that is supose to be there!
