I bought this for myself (adult). I'm 5'2", 114 lbs. The XL fits exactly as I hoped. It's mid thigh for me, not tight or baggy anywhere. Kids clothes can be tough to gauge, because the cut is going to be much different than women's clothing. With this particular piece of doesn't matter because it's not supposed to fit any certain form.The quality of the fabric and hardware seem great so far. I love having the elastic on both sides of the waist instead of a bunch of buttons.Overall: great piece
