I don’t write many reviews, but I thought this was a worthwhile post.The quality control on this item is mediocre at best. There were several issues with this unit.1) One of the shelves had an 1/8†bow on the ‘left’ side of the unit. This is a manufacturing QC problem because the shelf was in the middle of the box and there is no way shipping would have caused this.2) The fit up of the side panels was sufficiently poor that there was insufficient bolt length to get the included flat washer on 8 of the bolts, and most of these didn’t have sufficient threads to pass completely through the nut. This is 100% a factory fit up and QC issue.3) Lastly, one of the side panels came with a ding in the side (see picture). With the amount of styrofoam in this box, a little extra along the bottom would have prevented the ding. This is probably not worth a bitch but still.The unit is sturdy and will do the job, which is why I’m not giving it a lower grade.

How many librarians have quit their jobs in frustration trying to assemble this? First, ignore the instructions - the drawings are misleading. If you must buy this, we recommend just screwing the shelves into the two side panels and then attach the shelf backs to the shelves. Otherwise you’ll find yourself screwing and unscrewing the shelves and backs and driving yourself nuts. Have a rubber hammer on hand. Once done, the item is not square. We are still fiddling with it.
