This is a handy light meter. You can adjust, with a screwdriver, where you seat the cold shoe, so it will fit your Leica, or your Kodak Retina, etc. If you have a weakness for old rangefinders equipped with cold shoes, this is a good pick. I've not yet had the chance to develop film exposed with this, but exposure values match what my SLRs and other incident light meters would suggest. The three dial system is easy to master, and the information available in the little screen you view from the top down is quite ample. You can emulate a number of different meter outputs and so it allows for quite exacting exposure control. You can do full manual with arrows or dots, or you can set it on shutter, or aperture, priority. How many stops each dot represents will be something you can control and set to fit your needs. Extra-cool for owners of Retinas or other gear that marked their lenses with EV values: this thing will tell you the EV value to choose for a given light condition. Of course, you'll have to set your old cameras yourself once its guided you to a f-stop, shutter speed, or EV number, but that doesn't mean these automatic features are not helpful. You can also use it as a hand-held, although because it is quite compact you should know that its best occupying space in your shoe. The construction feels solid, and the ratcheted turns allow for minute control. You can even elect to alter the stop percentage change with each click, and that can be handy if you really want to accommodate lenses with unusual stops (I have a f2.5, for example), or older cameras with shutter speeds like a 1/50th. I also look forward to using this in cameras that once took mercury batteries. Newer batteries tend to throw off the old meters because they produce current that doesn't match spec. A Konica Auto S2, for example, now becomes a more inviting camera with a device like this.

I purchased this light meter more out of curiosity, as I mostly roll digital in a run and gun type scenario. When I get back to the editing suite, I often which I were able to slow down and dial things in a bit better. I've thought of using this device to test against what the camera says, while also being able to meter out and away from the camera. It is very small, and comparable to the size of a wireless audio mic receiver that sits on top of your camera. You can feel the quality of this thing as it's made of all metal. The dials are easy to read as well as the small screen. I am impressed by its ability to function on more levels than at first glance. You will want to dive into the manual to learn about how to do this.I am happy I purchased this, even though I am not using it for a film camera at this time. I do eventually plan on getting a film camera that may need it though. I currently am just using disposable film cameras and like the simplicity (until I get back the photos probably lol). When I make that move, I will have this handy. For now, though, I plan to keep it in my bag as a way to meter off camera for contrast ratios and compare to my camera's readings. A good product and I recommend.

As someone who loves shooting on vintage cameras that lack built-in light meters—and who definitely doesn't want to lug around a bulky expensive light meter—this device is about as perfect as it gets. Its compact size makes it easy to carry, yet it packs a punch with features like a 35-degree wide-angle metering system and ±0.1EV accuracy. The three tactile dials for aperture, ISO, and shutter speed not only feel satisfying to adjust but also offer half-stop precision, which is perfect for fine-tuning my exposure settings on the fly. It slips easily into the hot or cold shoe on your camera, and if your camera doesn't have one of those you can simply hold the meter or you could get a shoe mount and attach it with adhesive tape to your camera, allowing you to mount this little meter on top. Pro tip!I also appreciate the multiple metering modes, including Aperture Auto, Shutterspeed Auto, Manual, and EV modes, which let me quickly adapt whether I'm in a fast-paced shooting scenario or taking my time to compose a perfect shot. The manual and auto trigger metering options give me added flexibility, and the ability to set independent X ISO levels means I’m not limited to the standard ISO dial settings. The robust full metal shell inspires confidence in its durability, while the rechargeable battery (with over 20 hours of life) ensures I’m ready to shoot all day without a hitch. In short, this light meter is the perfect companion for vintage camera enthusiasts who need precision without sacrificing portability. Plus, it charges via USB-C so I don't even have to carry a separate USB-C cable.

I've been collecting vintage Minolta cameras for the past 3 years, and many of them don't have built-in light meters. The ones that do have them often times don't work very well. I've tried many different add-on light meters like this in the past, and most of them are complicated to use or have other quirks that make them annoying to use. This thing is awesome! Its easy to use, and feels like a high quality product. I've wished for a product like this ever since I started this hobby, a light meter that is small, accurate, but not made like a kids toy. This fits the bill!

This is a mini light meter for older cameras. I have to admit I haven't grasped its full functionality YET, but I like the compactness and the tactile feel of the dials. For some reason, I cannot grasp ISO and aperture, but I know this device will help visualize those concepts, with hands-on practice. The dials are easy to read with white writing on carbon black. I am not familiar with the company Molicoco, and these undecipherable names are a small pet peeve, but the unit is aesthetically nice and seems well made.

Without ifs and buts. Useful for those who use film cameras like me without integrated exposure meter. Basil but at least no more calculations for correct exposure
