Works well and stands up to Santa Ana winds

After getting it screwed together and placed where I wanted it, I discovered it wasn’t going to work. Too short. I then couldn’t take it apart (couldn’t unscrew it) and the pole disconnected (at the weld) from the base while trying. This product is useless to me and wasted money since it’s impossible to send back the way it is!

I purchased this despite the warnings that it was not very sturdy. I originally placed a hanging decoration that that weighed about 5 pounds on it. It immediately fell over. I now have another item on it that weighs 2 pounds and it still seems somewhat unstable.

The Shepherd's hook is easy to put together which is a good thing because the instructions totally lack clarity. Except for one small mention, how the screws are used is never explained. Nice pictures though.

The description of this item states the hook can hold 11 pounds, and it says it is targeted towards hummingbird feeders and windchimes. I believe this is accurate.It is very lightweight, and it looks good. If used freestanding, it needs the water weight base.If plants hang from it, I would recommend small ones or ones that need little water. If I decide to put it in the ground, I will use it for a hummingbird feeder or two.Once it warms up and I start spending more time on the patio, I will place suncatchers and windchimes on it.

I just anchored this pole made of high end good quality metal into the ground as it comes also with a flat base support.I hung my solar lights on it and they look very stylish especially when they are on at night.This pole is so easy to put together as it adds a decorative piece in my garden.It is heavy duty and very stable with its functionality and can be used to hang bird feeders too.

Unfortunately the ground here is frozen solid so I won't be able to install this to check it out. From what I am looking at however, it is of very solid material and feels like it will be able to withstand a hanging plant, lantern, or other item that you will want to put on it. I have a very old wind chime set and a a classic lantern that is just waiting for the thaw to be put up. Highly recommend

I’m happy with this stand. From the start, it was super easy to assemble since the instructions were clear, and it took me only about 6 minutes to put together. I love the fact that it has two base options: one for setting it on a flat surface (like a deck or patio) and another that can be planted right into the ground. This flexibility makes it perfect for different outdoor setups.I’ve been using this stand to hang a solar powered lantern and a pot plant and it holds them securely without any issues. The adjustable height is a great feature as well, so that I can set it to the perfect level depending on where I need it. The included water weight bag helps to stabilize the stand and keeps it from tipping over, even in the light wind. However, I wouldn't recommend hanging anything too heavy... a small sized pot with soil, for example, works fine, but I wouldn’t go heavier than that. Overall, this is a simple but really functional piece of outdoor decor that does exactly what I needed it for. This Liitrton 62.6 Inch Shepherds Hook was easy to put together and I appreciate the two base options. My previous hook only had a single spike for the ground and that made it less stable and I couldn't use on my balcony. I have so many bird feeders on my balcony and in my yard, I like being able to have choices with this one. In addition, the hooks for in-ground installation are much more stable than the previous hook, as mentioned above. I was able to hang a planter on it with no issues.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Wow. The LIITRTON brand 62 inch indoor/outdoor shepherd’s hook is a light-duty yard and landscape accessory suitable for hanging objects weighing no more than a couple of pounds such as smaller windchimes, and light weight feeders for small birds such as chickadees.This device is quite versatile in large part due to the 4 x 14” half-inch steel tubes that screw together incrementally for the vertical component, theoretically offering 4 different height options at 14 inch increments. In practice, the majority of users will probably use the full 5 feet of vertical available, and the remainder of this review will focus on the dynamics of using this device at full height.The 2.5 KG combined weight of this product proved to be too much for the packaging and it arrived with pieces sticking out of the broken box. Each of the individual components had been wrapped in plastic however, and there was no apparent scratching or other damage observed.All of the components are painted flat black. None of the components have been powder coated, or any other type of specialty finish or weatherproofing. The vertical components are very sketchy: thin metal, lightweight, and only half inch diameter, whereas a 1 inch diameter would be much more robust and suitable for structural integrity in a 5 foot tall post.The usual failure point for this type of product is the dreaded “it fell down dear” syndrome. The product designers have attempted to mitigate this by providing a choice of 2 securement options, 4 x 10” prong ground penetrating anchor, and a cast-iron base measuring approximately 12 x 8”, with an optional 16 inch circular water bag for additional ballast.Our soil here at the tree farm home base is nasty shale rock, therefore using the ground spikes would be futile. However, as this review is written on December 2, 2024, the ground is already frozen, ruling out using the water pillow ballast for the next five months. Aesthetically, this ballast, especially the colour, would look totally out of place when used with this product.We are blessed with a large number of birds on site that we enjoy feeding and watching year-round. We have tried products similar to this in the past and found them to be attractive at first sight, but troublesome to maintain and prone to short lifespans before something breaks.One alternative is to purchase a pressure-treated 4 x 4 by 8 foot timber. Dig a 2 foot deep hole, insert and backfill the post and you will have a very robust six-foot tall alternative that costs about half as much, won't rust, won't unscrew or break at joints, and will last a lifetime without any further maintenance or worries about falling over.The attached pictures illustrate several uses made possible by this type of set up, but not possible with the present product under review. One of the posts has 4 different types and sizes of birdfeeders, with plenty of room for more if desired. However, there are some areas that this could be improved.With having a decent height available to setup your hook, it does perform much better in the shorter configurations. The dual base option is excellent add-on to allow for you to use this on a flat hard surface, like a deck or indoors, or a ground spike for outside.We used this outside, using the ground stake. The ground does need to be soft, so adding water to loosen it up does help. Also, if frost has set in, it is not a great idea to try to force this into frozen ground. However, that should be a given.The base is quite sturdy, but when you add the height sections to the hook, the connections do wobble and sway. This is not optimal. Without knowing the true cause of this, I will only speculate that the diameter of the pole is not thick enough to bear the weight of your hanging object. This causes the joints of the pole to tilt. Not the end of the world, just shorten the pole. When we did this, the weight was manageable and the pole did not sway as much.The metal base would work inside your space. The included water weight is a bit underwhelming and if you use this route, pick up a ten pound plate and feed the pole through it and set it on the base. The lack of water in a plastic bag will allow you to sleep better, especially if you have pets. The pole will be secure and so will your floors. Same rules apply for height, lighter at higher heights.The price point of this hook is a subjective value. For me, not being able to fully extend the pole height to hang a light or bug zapper on without seeing the 'wow' in the pole, is a bit disappointing. However, a shorter height, if that was my main use, this product would perform well and I would have a better value for this product. So, judge this statement for what it is meant to convey.All in all, I like the easy setup that this hook brings to the table. In spite of the lack of use for us at a higher height, it still performed well when we needed it. If this pole is ever re-iterated based on feedback, using a wider diameter and perhaps a thinker gauge of metal would benefit this product, immensely. I do not think I would order this specific model in the future, however, if your use falls within the good performance 'sweet spot' that this product offers, then I could and would recommend it. The pros outweigh the negatives. The only x-factor remaining is longevity and how well this product will do multi-season, or going from extreme temperatures (cold to hot). I will update this review in the event of performance changes.In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

Nice looking shepherds hooks that I am using to hang my hummingbird feeders. I would call these light weight hooks as they are not as sturdy as other hooks that I have.

Unfortunately the ground here is frozen solid so I won't be able to install this to check it out. From what I am looking at however, it is of very solid material and feels like it will be able to withstand a hanging plant, lantern, or other item that you will want to put on it.
