I needed to run sound from my laptop into a church sound system while giving a presentation. Works with ease! Just get an 1/8" male to 1/4" male cable from Radio Shack to run from your computer to the Direct Box, then a regular XLR cable to run from the Direct Box to wherever you want the sound to be played out of. Works great! If you hear a buzzing sound, just flip on the ground switch on the Direct Box--that usually takes care of it.

this has allowed me to record guitar at home with little to no ground noise. my effects floor board had a strong hum and thus product has allowed me to use it in recordings

Got these when I couldn't find the Horizon anymore. Does the job. Ground lift, It's a direct box....
