I used to work in sound reinforcement, and we used DI boxes (direct injection boxes) like this to take an unbalanced sound, like the input from an electric guitar, and balance it, allowing it to travel long distances down a snake (long cable run) without the audio signal degrading. It also allows it to integrate into the XLR input on a mixer board. This appears to be great quality, balancing the input from a 3.5mm connector. It includes the pretty much mandatory ground lift, which you only engage if you get a humming noise when using the DI box.

I've used some cheaper group loop isolators for a number of years, and was excited to try this WisWinDA Pro101A AUX to XLR Isolation Box... WITH VOLUME CONTROL!This would solve a big problem for me, in having the ability to tweak the gain without need to fiddle with some digital setting.I tested this unit a couple of ways...1. Connecting a Rode Wireless Go II, then connecting an XLR cable to a Behringer X32 sound board. While this does not introduce ground loop issues, I have had mixed success with cheaper cables converting 3.5mm to XLR properly. This appears to have a "true" sound to it, however, it would appear that there is some feedback/interference which is created. Likely due to poor shielding somewhere and the 2.4GHz wireless frequency.2. I also tested this FROM the soundboard to a PC on the same outlet. (using a female to female XLR). I don't know if this is intended to work in that direction, but a strong signal was received not the less! But alas, this had some sort of high pitch whine intermittently.If it weren't for some sort of poor shielding, this would be a great unit! The build quality is phenomenal otherwise. Switch is firm and solid, body is all aluminum, cable is thick. I suspect the 3.5mm end/metal connector is the issue, but hard to tell for sure.

This isolation box sounds great and does help get rid of ground loop noise well. It's great to have a volume knob on the box. The box itself is very well made and the switch feels very solid.

if you don't know how to record, or use mixers/microphones or record on screen records at least, this isn't for you, its good for sound quality, very great quality, the build is very nice, comes in a very nice zip case. i actually might need another.

This device helps reduce hum and extra noise caused by improper ground to audio devices. I can confirm it does a good job of getting rid of hum on a veriety of different audio situations. It seems heavy and well made. My biggest complaint is that I wish the cables were detachable as if they get damaged the thing is a paper weight. And also that it offered 1/4 inch cable out instead of a headphone jack. They probably make that but it wasn't a option for me and that makes it less than ideal for guitar amps as advertised. The ground lift switch is a welcomed feature and for the right user, this device will probably work nicely for years to come. Although your milage may vary.
