Previous dog leash clip broke and these are a great improvement! They are definitely heavy duty but small enough to not get in the way. They aren't hard to open but definitely have a good tension to the spring. Glad I got them!

Exactly what I needed.I was making my own double dog leash. I have had trouble with the D rings on some dog collars pushing open the standard side opening clips so I wanted to use this style. These are very strong and easy to operate and NEVER come off accidently. The swivel spins easily and does not bind or stick.I am not sure why this type of lobster claw clip is not the standard for all dog leashes.

These small, lobster clasp type swivels seem well-made—hefty, heavy-duty, with a strong-spring closure action. I wanted them to build a 50-foot dog line for when I take my pooch on day trips and camping junkets. The first one examined seemed perfect…then I picked up and handled the second one and the dang thing bit me! Okay…it more accurately stabbed me. In the thumb. Several "splinters"—protruding stainless steel burrs, which should have gotten polished off in final finishing—were sticking out from the end of the rounded through-pin holding the clasp jaws. A tiny detached shard was now embedded in my thumb. Looking close, I saw—and then gingerly felt—other still-attached burrs. (Don't know if the photo shows them.) Mind you, I was more startled than hurt. The shard didn't go deep and there was no bleeding. I just wasn't expecting them to be there given the overall quality look of the product. And frankly, I feel kinda bad about giving a one-star ding. Consider it a sort of mild caveat. I can file/buff the remaining burrs away in 30 seconds, and they don't one bit lessen the overall excellent quality of the product.

This is a well made clasp. It has a very nice finish to ward off rust if used outdoors. These things have a million uses. I use mine as a double latch on my backyard gates to keep the toddler grandkids safe from the street or alley.

I needed a few lobster clasps for diving. I found these and they looked reasonable. I was really shocked when I received them. One of the clasps is pretty difficult to open. I'm not trying to be petty but when you are down 200' and have several tanks on and lots of equipment, everything has to be in the best shape and working flawlessly. One was okay and opened pretty smoothly. So I tried to contact the company but their automated system just kept running me back to Amazon. So I decided to do a return and order a replacement. As always, Amazon was amazing on the return/replacement process - super easy and quick. So the replacement set arrived today and they both are even worse. One of them (see attached pic) won't even close as it gets stuck in the open position. Luckily I'm not going diving for at least a month so I will be looking again for a solid clasp.
