The material needs to be thicker to start on the stovetop. If preheated in the over to 300 for 30 min, the food cooks quickly and evenly, but heating is not even if not preheated due to Iron not being think enough, even a very low heat setting. Difficult to clean at first, but easy after multiple times seasoning in Overn.

I've been around the block quite a few times with pots and pans and it takes a lot to impress me. It's the pan I didn't know I needed, and I purchased on a whim. This impresses me because of the design; I love that you have separate sections in the same pan to make separate items. Thanks Lodge, you came through again!

Lodge makes a good, simple, cheap skillet. However, I was really disappointed to see the preseasoning I received on my pan. I'd rather not scrub the whole pan bare, especially since the pan isn't for me, so I'm gonna season it five or so times before use, and hopefully that'll level out the seasoning. The picture included is after I added one coat of grapeseed oil @ 475 for an hour. The heavy black areas are from Lodge, not me.

I love the idea of this, and I am usually a fan of Lodge products , but this one missed the mark for me. The bottom is warped a bit, which would be ok if I were cooking on gas. But my stove is electric and that means that during cooking very little of the pan come into direct contact with the coils of my electric stove. Uneven heating is the result. I'll save it for summer and hopefully use it while camping. If you use a gas stove, this may work for you.

I really liked the antique Griswold Breakfast Skillet - but this one for HUNDREDS of dollars less more than fits the bill! Start out with a few strips of Bacon on the top half - then follow it up with 2 eggs on the bottom half! The eggs end up being the perfect size for an egg (and bacon) sandwich!Easy to clean and re-oil for the next time!
