I love this grill topper for so many reasons! It’s high quality and is great for grilling veggies, fish, meats, you name it! As long as you lightly re- season it with a dab of cooking oil after each use things won’t stick to it.

This Lodge Grill Topper is made of cast iron material and comes already seasoned. I washed mine and coated it with solid vegetable shortening and put it in the oven and baked it at 350` for about an hour and turned the oven off and let it sit in the oven as it cooled down. I love the design because it has holes that will allow things to cook without standing in grease and the holes are small enough that smaller pieces won’t fall into the fire. A really nice addition to my grilling arsenal which will last forever if properly taken care of.

The only complaint I have is I wish they made a larger one with the same material. I’ve gone through so many grill roasters it’s horrible. The metal is just never thick enough to withstand repeated use. This was a game changer. I use it all the time and just leave it on the grill when I’m done. Sure it gets rusted and might look a little rough, but it’s nothing a quick high temp heat and oiling can’t fix! Awesome product

I had been using a Weber brand stainless steel basket for grilling vegetables. After using a this cast iron grilling basket I wont be going back to the SS grate.The vegetables grilled perfectly and didn't stick

Very nice quality cast iron. Cast iron needs to be properly cared for. If cared for properly it should last several generations at least. I season it after every use. Lodge is a very responsive company. I had an issue and they sent a replacement at no charge. I highly recommend this product and if I need a cast iron product again, Lodge will be my first choice!

Add this to my Lodge collection. Real heavy and am sure it will last a life time if I don't drop it. Some rust on the topper, which is fine as I always scrub down my cast iron pans, heat up either in the oven or over stove top. Let it cool down a bit, and coat with a thin layer of cooking oil, burn it off. Repeat four times. You get a smooth, shiny, dry surface and you are ready to go. Always heat up the pan over low fire (20 minutes for me) before you use or else food will stick.

With a quick rinse and light oiling I put it on the grill only for a loud crack sound and crack in the tray to appear near the handle towards the top of the picture. It still works, but meat sticks to the iron even when oiled throughly. Not worth $60 even on sale.
