As a hot rodder and powersports business owner of many years I'm no stranger to this product or it's manufacturer. Lokar puts out a fine product.Why then only 4 stars?The installation instructions inform you that this shifter will mount either on the top of the transmission cover or from underneath the trans cover and, it will accept, if you mount it on top, they don't mention that their own shift boot cover will not mount without serious shift arm interference.Having no desire, like most, to drop the transmission, I mounted this shifter on top of the trans cover. You also don't have to make as big a hole in the transmission cover. I then tried to install the (purchased separately) rectangle (square) Lokar boot cover with retainer ring. Huge NO GO.This forced me custom fabricate a spacer between the trans cover and the shifter mount (see pix).I'm lucky that I have a full shop at my disposal at my business and I can do this. Most don't and this could be a deal breaker for them.Lokar should make note of this fault with their own products in their literature and instructional material.For me, that cost them a star.
