That my 2018 Lorex NVR model failed in 2023 I do like that this swap was compatible with my cameras and also that Amazon had more selections and transparent pricing than Lorex’s own sales phone support. Fingers crossed that this will last more than 6 years.

Easy to setup and use, the old cloud application does work with this newer model...however, I recommend getting the newer app if you want access to more features.

The NVR doesn’t work with my cameras so I returned it. The seller charged 20% restocking fee which I have never experienced with any other Amazon seller in my over 20 years as a Amazon consumer!

Easy to setup. Mobile app is pretty good. However, the main Ethernet connection is only 100Mbps (not 1Gb). The POE ports have no link lights and are also 100Mbps. Google home integration is incredibly slow. All that said, I would have kept this NVR except of these 2 important bits. 1) Pre recording does not work. When playing detection alerts, the videos start from when the detection started (not 5 seconds before that like I configured). 2) When playing footage back manually before a detection, the NVR gets a couple seconds away from the alert and then fast forwards you to the detection. So even when continuously recording, you still cannot replay moments before the event. I even tried their latest model (purchased directly from Lorex) and it does the exact same thing.

I have bought 2 of these Lorex NVRs in the past 2 years. The first one from Costco turned off after about 1 year and never turned back on. Lorex tech support is TERRIBLE! They will not honor Amazon purchases for warranty replacement unless the Amazon seller can provide their original proof of purchase. So beware of that!Lorex is of no help. They make you jump through lots of hoops via email to get a replacement. On the very last step, they stopped replying to my email and I was unable to get a replacement. My 2nd NVR purchased on Amazon had a loud grinding sound coming from it after about 10 months of use. I spoke to tech support for nearly 2 hours on the phone, then went back and forth via email for another 2 hours. They told me to reply to an email, but the email address they provided does not accept replies, so its impossible to reply to them! Lorex sells garbage products and decent prices to trick consumers to picking them over higher end systems. DO NOT expect this product to last more than a year, and DO NOT expect Lorex to do anything about it. Also, all the 'features' they say their products have is a lie too. Motion detection is poor, facial recognition is non-existent, and the sensors are complete garbage.
