I have never worn leg warmers before. I was surprised by them. I like the zipper at the bottom for ease in getting on and off. They didn't irritate my skin. They did slide maybe less than half an inch, not much at all and I rode 40 miles. As for the cold, I would say no colder than 50 degrees for me, but I am thin and naturally cold natured. Overall, I liked these a lot.

I relied on the fit chart on the Louis Garneau website. I was surprised to see that according to the chart, I would be an XS, but I went ahead ordered that size. (My thigh measures 19.75 inches, measured at the thickest part as their instructions say.) The warmers felt a little tight when I first put them on, but after a few minutes they felt just right. When you pull the zipper up, it locks and lies flat against the outside of the warmer, so it won't irritate the skin. Very happy with this purchase!

The elastic/silicon that holds the leggings up failed with short use and no longer will stay up (even when tucked under bicycling shorts). I contacted Garneau customer service for a replacement but was told that they would only warranty them for 12 months (this was after 14 months) though they were probably used only 10-12 times in that time period. Garneau offered at 20% discount for the same item which I would not buy again nor recommend. I have other Garneau products which are well made and have held up well and would buy again, but not the leggings.

I purchased an extra-small because when it's in men's sizing, that's usually what fits. I was wrong this time. The extra-smalls were tiny, like arm warmer size. Unless you are a 12 year old girl, do not order extra small. From what I could tell, the quality was good.
