This is exactly what I need for my SI (sacral iliac) joint dysfunction. The holes in the seat leave my sore spots with no pressure. I am so happy with this, driving is no longer a literal pain in the a**.One note: if you leave it in the car overnight in the cold, it is very hard in the morning. I recommend bringing it indoors with you. (I constantly forget but have seat heaters which help warm it up a little faster).

I've been dealing with ischial bursitis for some time now. According to my doctor and physical therapist, if you're lucky and there's a repetitive motion that you can stop doing (like bike riding), then it still might take a month to resolve.I'm unlucky- I think mine started when I slammed down on the hard seat of a roller coaster (and no, there was no "bone bruise," just the bursitis on imaging), and since then I don't have any easily reversible habits to stop--I'm not particularly sedentary, and I haven't had any repetitive lower extremity motions or sports that I can avoid, but my pain was still been pretty constant for a few months despite PT, meds, injections, etc. According to the PT, it's because sitting on it, lying on it, moving it with walking (you know, the normal things I do just EXISTING) are aggravating it, and if it didn't get better I might be looking at a surgical bursectomy.PT recommended this type of cushion, but all the quality ones I initially found were about a hundred bucks; simple pillow types (non memory foam, poor construction) were cheaper but didn't make any more of a difference than just using a pillow off my bed. Then I found this one- it's pretty much the same design and construction as those expensive ones, for the price of one of those simpler pillowy types. It almost seemed too good to be true, but I ordered it.It is an absolute game changer. After only a couple of days of offloading the bursa at work, the dinner table, in the car, etc (it's lightweight and has a carry strap, so it's easy to take wherever I am), I'm essentially pain free in the bursa this morning.I was still sore lying on it last night in bed (due to the design of the cushion, you really can't put it under you to sleep without arching your back significantly), but even that was a lot better, and for the first time I've got some hope that I can kick this thing (current plan is to use it for at least a couple of weeks of being pain-free, and then to still use it on long car rides, etc as a prevention) without surgery.I've only had it a few days, so take any assessment of durability with a grain of salt, but it seems to have high quality materials and construction, the design is almost identical to the expensive one, and the breathable/washable cover and memory foam haven't given me any trouble with sweating, etc despite using it on leather seats on hot days. And of course, it seems to be working, and quickly. I did notice, as other reviewers have, that initially I was more sore in my rear. Immediately, this seemed to be me just trying to find the best place to sit on the cushion for my body type so that my ischium was in the "donut" rather than on the firm-when-compressed memory foam. Once I found that sweet spot, and the cushion started breaking in, that bursal pain pretty much went away, but I did notice more of a generalized soreness in the surrounding muscles. I attribute this to the fact that generally the pressure points of your ischial tuberosities and their overlying structures bear the weight of you sitting (they aren't called "sit bones" for nothing), and so when you offload them, the surrounding tissues of your rear end bear the brunt of your weight, when they aren't used to doing so. That said, the discomfort paled in comparison to what the bursitis felt like, and went away pretty quickly. This is a niche product that you probably didn't just stumble upon--if you found it and are reading this, you probably did so after doing research for something that's ailing you. In my case, this thing was a magic bullet at a fraction of the cost of some of the other stuff out there, with seemingly all of the benefits. I'll update things if they change, but as of now, I'm inclined to say that your search ends here. Buy the thing.

I needed a seat cushion for my car and decided to try this one. It is very supportive and comfortable! Unfortunately, it was a bit too high for me to use in my car. My head was too close to the roof. I had to return it and order a flat gel cushion instead. But if you are looking for something to use in the house, or maybe in a wheelchair, consider giving this one a try!

This cushion is very comfortable. The cutout holes align with the sit-bones and sensitive Ischial bursa, and after two days has greatly reduced the triggering of the pudenal nerve. It has a mesh cover that keeps you from sliding off. I wear shorts a lot, so I put a soft pillowcase over it for more comfort. The positioning of the hips and back is good so far, feels natural and not like I’m teetering over a donut hole. It cradles the entire hip and buttocks. I am 147 lbs, 5’4â€. I am using it on an office-style chair and also a cushy leather couch. Seems to work on both without slipping. Of course, it’s hard to sit up straight on any couch when binge-watching TV, but this doesn’t feel weird like the donut did on the couch. I put my donut in the car. It has a nice handle, so it should be easy to travel with as well.

I’ve had sciatica issues for over 20 years.Long drives are usually pretty rough for me.A friend of mine recommended trying a pillow. I looked up one for my husband and I. His right leg would go to sleep sometimes on long drives. The seat pillows we ordered worked great! We had to drive from Omaha to Pittsburgh to help our son move. It was rough driving there. So I ordered the seat pillows while there. The drive back from Pitts to Omaha was entirely different and much more enjoyable!

I read & re-read all the reviews saying this seat pad was wonderful but it certainly won’t work for me. It’s just too hard. My “butt†bones lined up with the holes but this actually brought me more pain. I’m suffering from an issue with the sacroiliac joint & omg the pain is awful without anything else making it worse. I tried it in several different chairs with the same result, more pain. My spouse sat in it and found it comfortable so will keep it for him to use in his office chair. To give you reference on the sizing: I’m 5’6 & 154 #’s , spouse is 5’8 & 228 #’s. Believe me, I was truly hoping this cushion would bring some much needed relief. This cushion is nice, has a handle so you carry wherever you need it. Looks well made.

I found this cushion to have better placement of the openings, and larger openings, which made it work for me. Another pillow I tried actually made the pressure worse. This one has larger, longer holes, and since I'm having an issue with the area just behind my sit bones this one works for me. I can't use it all the time or I end up feeling sore elsewhere, but it's a great change of pace to alternate seating positions.

I love this!! I had back surgery and was having a difficult time riding in a car and this made it pain free. My father had surgery the day after mine and he was having problems sitting and this fixed it. My brother was having back pain sitting at work and this took care of it.

Very good quality product. It offers support and comfort. It is thick enough and comfortable. Cushion is soft, but firm enough, which is important for those who have back pain.

This cushion has been a life saver for my Pudendal Nerve Entrapment, otherwise known as Cyclist Syndrome. Very comfy to sit on and the holes are in the right place to take the pressure off my sit bones and coccyx. I couldn’t survive without it at the moment. I have one in my car too. Pricey but worth every penny ðŸ‘

For my job, like many people, I sit at a desk a lot. I had been previously using a memory foam cushion with a coccyx (tailbone) cutout to help take pressure off the base of my spine. Problem is, then the weight that would have been distributed on my tailbone area ended up on my sit bones instead. Now I've been having pain in my sit bone area, probably bursitis. I've had this cushion for about a week now and so far sitting has been much more comfortable. It is obviously also important to take breaks, stretch, exercise etc., but when you need to sit and yer bum hurts, this pillow definitely helps. :-)
