I used this to install a new rear main seal on my 2003 Tahoe with a 5.3L flex fuel engine (L59 RPO code). It centered the seal adapter plate perfectly on the crankshaft. I used it to press the new seal in too. Worked Great! About 20k miles later and still no leaks.

This product is well worth the money compared to the OEM version which cost hundreds more. And it's simpler to use. I've heard people say the seal will center itself and there's no need for the alignment tool but they're wrong. Im speaking from experience. Maybe they got lucky with theirs but its not worth the risk considering the work involved. This tool will center the seal plate perfectly and also install the seal into the plate afterwards. This is a high quality tool made to exacting tolerances considering its simplicity. This tool could easily sell for $100 IMO.

Manufacturers package was open and the tool is already used. I’m sure it’ll work but buying something new and receiving it with a gouge and an oil thumbprint on the side is ridiculous.

I replaced 3 rear main seals without the tool and wouldn’t you know it. They all leaked UNTIL I used this tool.
