We used this harness for my 7 year old granddaughter who had skied only 2 other times and with the help of my son guiding her with straps she was able to ski to the bottom without falling. The design of the backpack and the straps works perfectly.

I have a son with Down syndrome who LOVES to ski, loves to go fast and also likes to look down instead of where he's skiing! This harness helps me stop him from running into others or a tree! His adaptive ski coaches used the harness but liked to use their own straps without elastic because they give them more control. The straps that come with the harness have elastic in the them that seem to make sense so you don't get whiplash because it eases the tug when they get pulled hard... but it also compromises the ability to control your child's turns etc. The product description says you can use the handle on the backpack to pull your child up onto ski lifts is not really helpful because the whole backpack and harness rises up too high, even with the straps pulled down tight. There is no strap between their legs to keep the harness from rising up. You would have to have the waist strap so tight it would be uncomfortable to be able to lift them with the handle on their back. I do use the handle to help control his movement when we are standing still on the slope or in the lift line. Overall it's worth the money and works great for my kiddo. If your looking at this for a bigger kid it might just work because my child wears size 8-10 boys clothes.

I ordered this one for my daughter to use when she is developing her ski skills. I have used one from a different company in the past. I am comparing this to the one I have used for this review.1. Stitching: well made, with even stitches throughout the product. It compares just as well as the other brand.2. Tow point: this is one reason why I ordered this. It's tow point for skiing is at the hips which is nearer to the center of gravity. It is much better than the other I have which pulls in the middle of the chest causing more instability.3. Adjustability: this is where it shines! There are adjustable straps for nearly everything on this! It makes it extremely versatile for a lot of users and as the kids grow. You can adjust it to their comfort level and it keeps the tow point where you want it. My other one, had a few areas to adjust, but not much room to fine tune it.4. Style: the colors to choose from are great. It makes her want to where it because it looks like a nice, small backpack. My other one had neutral colors and was really just a pouch on the back.5. Strong handle: the handle on the top allows you to use it to lift the child while wearing it and gives you a place to hold them while riding the chair lift. My other one has the same feature and compares well.6. Strap storage: the tow straps are stored in a pocket in the back pack. There are still other pockets to store snacks, hand warmers, or an extra hat or gloves as well. My old one has a strap storage pouch but nothing else.7. Tow straps: this one has a shock absorbing elastic section that also takes up some slack. It has thick handles as well to hold on to. It compares well to the other one I use for the most part. I do think these clips may not hold up as well, but time will tell. I also preferred the looser handles of my old one because I wrap them around my wrists to make sure I don't lose them/drop them by mistake. The bulky handle on this is more of a hinderance in this case.8. Price: highly competitive and actually a better deal for what you get compared to the other.Overall it is a great product that I will be able to use for my next daughter when it is her time to learn. I am very happy with this and so is my daughter. If she is excited to wear something that keeps her safe it is a win in my book!

I love the Lucky Clover brand. They make quality ski products that capture the essence of the challenges we skiers face. And there is no more gripping an ordeal than teaching your little mini-me to ski without fear. I don't want to tame my spunky kid's wild abandon. I just don't want him hurt or escaping my reach when he decides he has wings to fly! And as much as he wants to be on his own, I know that his confidence comes from being tied to me skiing behind him, far enough away but still in control. It's a win-win when done right. This harness is smartly designed and ruggedly constructed, in catchy vivid colors, to make my little skier feel like the gear is for the big guys when he is wearing it. He enjoys suiting up, it's HIS backpack and the point of being tethered doesn't come to the forefront. Sometimes when there is no downhill he is NOT tethered, just wearing the harness and backpack like real skiers do. When I grab the reins it is "Don't lose mommy!" and not the other way around. Let me also mention, on two occasions, when we went to a very busy mall during a 50% SALE frenzy, and then at an outdoor concert that was packed, I had him wear this harness, telling him it will show everyone you're a skier, when it was actually to ensure that he was safely tethered to me in a chaotic crowd where he could easily be snatched, even with me right there. Or worse yet, if there was ever a crowd stampede. It's a crazy world, and he is my most precious possession. SO what I am saying is that this harness could also be advertised and sold as personal protection equipment for kids too big for a stroller who can easily let go of your hand. Thank you Lucky Clover for including the whole family in creating wonderful dependable and fashionable products that make our lives so much better!

This item was supplied to me free of charge through Amazon’s Vine program; however, this in no way influences my review, all items I request are products that I have a use for or will use and the reviews I then submit are intended to be both impartial and informative for potential purchasers.I ordered this one for my daughter to use when she is developing her ski skills.Have used a few iof these in the past and we have just come back from our annual ski holiday in France and ordered this and a blue one whilst we were out there from the same company.They are very sturdy and well made and has great adjustability with an abundance of straps to ensure the pull against you is as low as possible which is where a few companys get this wrong when they have the pull over the shoulders but this has it low around the hips and has the ability to change as your children grow from what i can make out.What i particulary like is the expanding strap that reduces the snap of the pull when you first start moving.There is a really decent grab handle accross the top that will have a multitude of used most notibly for lifting up if fallen over or to place on a ski lift.A few places for starage if required but i would never store anyting in a child whilst skiing just in case of them causing an injury but they are there for those that will use it.May seem expensive to some but you do get what you are opaying for with this one.

This is such a useful.piece of equipment if skiing is your thing with the kids wanting ti learn. Easy yo grab them up.into ski lifts and love the additions of storage . Safety is key with this piece and its so sturdy and well made. I can't fault it. Will last a lifetime
