I’m cheap and have a lot of time so we sharpened our boards at home this season. It’s easy to use if you read the instructions (which I highly recommend). I think this is a better value than all of the edge sharpening kits on Amazon.

Didn’t work great for my skis, which were admittedly in rough shape. The little abrasive pad did take the rust off well, but could’ve been a bit bigger. Expect the file would work better on skis already in decent shape. Isn’t gunna fix big issues.

As others have mentioned, the instructions are weird but you can find videos online. I used this to tune the sides of my skis and it seemed very efficient for that. I'm still not sure if I can use the file on the bottom of the edges and I was too chicken to try. The gummy stone was good for removing rust. I haven't needed the PTEX but it's nice to have it around in case I scratch my bases.

My crows had some rust around the edge from some melted snow that had pooled up in the ski bag. The gummy stone took it all right off in about 60 seconds.

Really cheap tool. Poorly made, picked it up thinking I could use it. Instructions are poor. File falls out of the plastic tool frequently. Hard to read. Even my friend who worked in ski shops for a long time was not a fan of it. Said, "Get a real tool, this thing is gonna mess stuff up." So here I am warning the rest of you.

Instructions were vague but found better instructions on YouTube and works as should.

Seems to work somewhat but no where near as good as taking your skis to a professional shop with professional equipment that will give you a consistent edges coordinated on both edges of the ski.

This kit includes a file (edge sharpener for your skis or snowboard), a file holder, a gummy file (for removing burrs), and 4 PTEX sticks. The two sets of instructions included don't cover any of the provided components -- they seemingly belong to a much more advanced kit with completely different components. If you search online on the XCMAN website you can find a video of how to use the actual product you received (although it's still a slightly different demo than the one they ship you), but there is still no explanation of what to do with the PTEX sticks. A separate search on "PTEX" on the web will reveal videos on how to use them (i.e. melt them to fix scratches in your board or skis) -- but again nothing about this is mentioned in the instructions. Anyone buying this kit is probably also resourceful enough to do their own detective work on the web, but it would have been much easier if the correct instructions were included in the first place :-)

It looks simple to use but it really not, especially at ends of skis. Only use in the event of an emergency (e.g. edge damage and no access to repair shop).
