So it's not going to make your compressor quiet. That's not what it is for.If you leave a compressor all the time then there is a electric purge you put at the drain end of the tank that kicks on once an hour to drain moisture/blow off some air to prevent tank rust. This is very noisy. This little muffler reduced mine by probably 70-80%! I was amazed. You never get to say something exceeded expectation but this one did.

Muffler is supposed to reduce air compressor noise by 30%. DB meter shows no change in noise level.
