Ive not had the opportunity to put these in use yet for my application, but my test rig looks good.nice waveform with a pullup resistor.I hope they have the resolution Im looking for, but it will be awhile until the project is ready to turn high rpm.Am trying to use these to read a trigger wheel in an automotive upgrade (refit) project.I wish the manufacturer would publish specs. Then I would know.

These are working just fine for me so far. They have a great range and have not given any issue.I think they should clarify in the product description just a little. But the NPN is a "sinking" not a "sourcing" device. So it switches the negative to the output wire, not the positive. And yes, they are normally open.Fit and finish are good. I would not hesitate to get more...probably will. I will have to see if I can find them also in a PNP configuration as that is what I use most. And what I think most others use most as well. That is why I wanted to clarify that the ones I received are NPN...just to help bring that to your attention if it was not.

I decided to upgrade my CNC router's home switches to something that's not mechanical. No more wood chips preventing a switch from operating or blocking an opto sensor. You will need to add an extra wire for power (if you don't already have one). My Z axis has a brake on the stepper so I already had 24vdc in the wire loom. You'll also need to find out if you need NPN or PNP and normally open or normally closed switches for your specific application.Installing is pretty simple. Installing a mount for them and something metal for them to sense though could be complicated depending on your application. These fit just fine in a 1/2" hole and have lot of range since they are fully threaded.The wires aren't shielded though. Since the leads were nowhere near long enough I used shielded wire and a ferrite core near each sensor since I'm using a VFD to control a spindle. I cut the lead pretty short so the shielding starts near the core.Having a light makes it easy to set them up. Just move the axis to it's limit then adjust the sensor closer to the metal until the light comes on. Then tighten up the nuts. If it's a bit too close or far from it'e hard limit you can make fine adjustments to dial it in. Repeatability appears to be more accurate than I can measure with my dial gauge. My test was home the axis, move 10", set a dial indicator up to read 0. then I would home the axis and move to that location. Each time the indicator was saying it returned to the same location.

I got these to use in a 3D printer addon I'm making to clear my print tray after printing. These sensors help make that possible. I don't have any complaints about them and would recommend/buy more in the future.

I needed sensors for a cnc project and these work great. 3D printed some mounts and got these hooked up quickly. Detection is spot on every time.

I'm building out a multi-tool system for my 3d printer and this comes in a 4 pack, so it is a great way to make sure that every head has it's own proximity sensor
