Great cheap-and-cheerful set. I ground down the edges of the tap very slightly and turned it into a 'thread chaser' for the hub threads on a 2013 Dodge Dart. The steel seems fine - not too brittle, didn't snap off on me when I got it bound up a little bit. Nice standard tap that worked fine for onesies and twosies. I used the die to chase threads on a lug that got a little fouled as well.

Tap and die are ground pretty poorly and each had some defects, but after cleaning them up, they both cut threads in steel that are acceptable if not exactly stellar quality. So a decent bang for buck if you aren’t regularly threading a particular size. The tap shaft center drill (on rear) was mangled and I had to cut a new one on lathe before I could use tailstock to center. Obviously not an issue for everyone. And the seller did not list the die diameter, but I assumed it was 38mm or 1.5in and it is.

This a high quality 14mm die and tap set that ups my set to the next size. Interesting that this 14mm die is a significant jump in diameter versus my 12mm that will require me to find an up-size handle.Fortunately, I recently obtained a tap collet that uses a 3/8" square drive for the torque needed. This 14mm fits with a little room to spare if I ever obtain a 16mm. So TBD which will need will come first, the tap or die.

The die was cut unevenly. The tap seems to be okay minus a few threads missing. Definitely cheap. You get what you pay for.

Both the tap and the die cut clean and consistent threads with no binding or shearing. Some form of storage would've been great but this is probably meant to be a replacement to a broken or damaged item in a kit so I guess many will already have storage. Still, this is a quality product at a reasonable price.

I needed an M14 x 1.5 tap and die to work with the threaded nozzles on my power washer of the same thread size. No issues and this set worked well, allbeit I was creating threads in printed PLA plastic. I did not test the set on any harder materials (steel) and cannot comment on suitablility for this application.
