Product Description

Dies

Round Thread dies are suitable for general purpose threading, widely used in thread repair or cleaning the external thread.

Use Suggestions:

  • Check the specification and outer diameter of the die and the clamping range of the die wrench to ensure that they match. Choose a suitable screwdriver to unscrew the fixing screws on the main body of the die wrench.

  • Lubricating oil should be applied when cutting, suitable lubricating oil is conducive to cutting or cooling, making cutting easier, it can help to extend die service life.

  • It needs to be reversed every 1/4~1/2 circle to facilitate the chip discharge from the chip hole.
  • Material: Alloy Tool Steel.
  • Cutting Direction: Right Hand.

I cut about 10in worth of threads in record time...way faster than I should have. 🤣 But it worked nice and didn't dull at all that I could tell.

Bought to chase some threads on auto lug bolt studs. The bolts were 100% fine except they had metal galled in the threads from a magnesium wheel that had been run a bit loose that a pick or wire brush would not remove. I verified it was the right size, both die and bolt... but it simply would not start. It was slightly too small ID. Not even on a brand new bolt verified to be the size stamped on the die could be started on. Oh well, had to bang out and replace all the bolts instead.

Die was stamped correctly but appears to be smaller than m16. Would it even fit onto a m16 bolt

Die was the wrong size and had a lead in ground on BOTH sides instead of just one.
