Bought two bags of these. Found three shackle pins fail to tighten and pull out under a light load.

These stainless shackles are well suited for marine applications. The description chart states that the working load is around 600lbs but the stated advertisement mentions about 1700 lbs (failure load?) In any event these are very robust and quite well suited to even very heavy loads. The shackle threads are good fitting with no wobble or laxity.

This is a good quality product and exactly what I was looking for. We used to boat quite a bit - the Great Recession ended that - but I’m still drawn to these. I like them as small, semipermanent carabiners, but with a dash of style, and pretty much no chance they’ll come undone, so I use them for all sorts of things. They bring back memories of happy times. Practically speaking, they’re a quality product for the manufacturer’s intended use. I will likely come back for other sizes. Recommended!
