Socket caps have a small cylindrical head with tall vertical sides. Allen hex socket drive is a six-sided recess for use with an allen wrench (hex key). Socket head cap screws are commonly used in machine assembly for removable panels and parts. They have a round cap with a hex head and are tightened with a socket wrench drive. Longer caps are easier to see when fastened, while button and flat head caps are less likely to snag clothing or linkages.

I used these M5 socket head machine screws to assemble my CoreXY 3D printer, and they worked out very well. They thread smoothly and my Allen keys are a tight fit in the socket cap.I cannot give 5 stars, because they shipped with dirty oil or graphite coating on them that gets everywhere. When I first unboxed them I had to give them a liberal cleaning with WD40 and a few rags before using them, out of fear of staining everything I touched.Other than that, I am very happy with them, especially for the price!

I used these to mount a Skar Audio IX 10, with threaded inserts to the first box I made because they just looked great to me.No rust when I got them since they were well oiled.
