It did the job - thats what matters! had a stripped bracket on my bike and was using locktight to hold it in place. With using the kit, it now has a solid screw in place with a tight fit. Needed to read the instructions and even watched a video on how to do it but with the kit it was easy and it worked. Hopefully I wont ever need to use it again, but if I do, I am ready.

I was very happy with the results. I put threaded inserts M6x1.0 into my ls heads for valve cover bolts. I had a real mess before I spent the money. Now Im sitting here looking at the M8x.125 for the rocker stand studs. Expensive aftermarket heads come with steel inserts. These gave a very professional looking finish I'm happy to show off. The tap isn't super easy to use. Not sure If I did it wrong or what, but after I drilled then tapped the holes. Thats when I used the counter sink. So I needed to go back and clean threads up to make sure it all went in smooth. If they didn't cost as much, I would have inserts in every aluminum boss on this engine.

Complete kit to drill, tap, and install new threaded bushings. Inserts are of good quality and have a flange. Drill bit stayed sharp drilling into cast aluminum. The counterbore tool was dull and did not do a good job. The installation tool also bent one the first use (I used a bolt with jam nut instead).

Counter bore tool could have better teeth. Cuts well on annealed and soft cast aluminum. Not so great on work hardened or machined aluminum or harder metals.

Time-serts require a countersink bit but the one provided became dull and would not cut after the first hole rendering the kit useless.
