very good product. Much stronger than the cheaper version. Worth the extra $$ if you need the strenth. I CNC'd the holes for these at 9.5mm in 18mm Baltic birch plywood and it was a good fit.

I had a Ottoman (footrest for couch) and the hardware that held the casters stripped out leaving me with just a hole in the wood.I screwed this in and screwed the caster into it. Everything went smoothly and it's surprisingly sturdy.Be careful to buy the right size (both for wood and threads).

I took my digital calipers to these inserts-The shank is 8.5mm, threads are 10.5mm, and a 3/8†drill bit is ~9.5mm which has worked great for me.The largest drill bit you could use to prevent splitting is 13/32 (10.3mm), if you happen to own one.
