This brush is great; it creates a very thin line, hairs are soft and flexible. Be sure to always dip your brush in mineral spirits before painting, and to use some sort of brush cleaner (I use Master brush cleaner, which also gives the brush a coat to preserve it). I made the mistake of not following these steps and damaged my brush! My only con is that my brush had the tendency of not holding too much paint, but then again this is an economical buy. All around good investment.

When this brush arrived it had a pretty large bend in the bristles. It was shipped in a padded envelope with no protective tube over the bristles, nor did it seem to have any sizing in it to keep it stiff and straight until its first use. I patiently tried a few different methods to relax and straighten them, but it still has a slight bend that makes it difficult to work with. I'm disappointed, to say the least.

it acts like an old paint brush that sat in a can for a long time as it paints like a brush with warped bristles, even tho they are straight... how ever I have 3 others from Amazon that act the same way ... Once you figure out the quirks you can do some particular letter strokes really good... if you get the brush rotated to the right spot.. is that the way all brushes are?

Rather disappointed so far but it's early days and I need lots of practice before I am able to master the techniques required.Probably the fault lies with the calligrapher rather than the lettering quill.
