Great price for a tool that does the job well! The little rings that keep the pins from falling out are pretty cheap but so what. The compressors made the job go smoothly! You can borrow these for free from many auto parts stores but its worth the price to have your own if you do your own work regularly.

Replaced Struts on my 2000 Tundra and it worked successfully, but the safety pins did not extend due to the coil spring thickness. It worked and successfully changed struts, so I would recommend. But be aware that you might want to use a different brand that the safety pins can extend. I felt safe using them but was warry of them. All good and will save them to work on the 2005 Avalon coil springs when I get to it. The Avalon's coil springs are smaller I would think.

I used these to compress car springs to get the top hat off of SUV shocks. Works as intended and seems to be well built. Time will tell for long term durability but initial impressions are positive. One thing to update are the little metal loops on the locking pins. They are just your average key ring loops and will bend right away if you’re not careful. Only design flaw. The locking pin itself works fine.

Used this to replace struts on a suzuki SX4.Did the job, feels sturdy and the locking pins add a bit to the feeling of safety on this sketchy job.Wish I had a 1/2'' driver so I wouldn't have to ratchet this thing.

My Colorado WT has pretty heavy springs that are excessively compressed because of my lift spacers. These things did the job but it was at the upper end of their limit. You can see in the pic where the bars are bending. The detent lock pins seem like a nice touch, but they were hard to release probably because my coil material was fatter than what it was meant for. It worked, and it was cheap so I can't complain, but it wasn't easy. I have not used other spring compressors so I have nothing to compare it to.

First time using coil compressors, and am thrilled to say I am still alive and they got the job done! Used them on regular car coils (Ford Mustang 2008 V6 stock coils).
